As a gamer, I recently shared an odd gaming experience with fellow enthusiasts on Reddit, thanks to FlanofMystery. We had just completed the Shadow Lugia Raid together and were about to receive a message from Team GO Rocket’s Giovanni, whom we had just defeated. However, something glitched, causing the game to freeze, which in turn messed up how Giovanni’s model loaded.
Pokemon GO Players React to Weird Giovanni Glitch
In this instance, some spectators found it both strange and entertaining. One person likened Giovanni’s look to the extraterrestrials from John Carpenter’s movie “They Live”. Another made a joke about his bulging eyes and visible teeth, expressing surprise that the player managed to defeat him. A third individual mentioned feeling aggravated by the player’s success. It remains unclear whether the player was able to secure their victory and prize after the game malfunctioned, but this situation certainly breaks the mold for a game known for its scarier moments being caused by occasional photobombing.
Regrettably, despite the scarcity of jumpscares, the game encounters an abundance of bugs. Players of Pokemon GO have experienced a variety of glitches ranging from their characters ballooning to colossal sizes to being harassed by Team GO Rocket. Some of these bugs have severely affected gameplay, such as making it extremely difficult to execute good or better throws when capturing Pokemon due to hitbox inconsistencies. Fortunately, Niantic typically responds swiftly to rectify the most problematic of issues in their mobile game; however, it remains aggravating for players to contend with these technical hiccups.
