To celebrate Halloween, Pokemon GO has introduced the Ghost-type Pokemon Poltchageist, but many players are finding it difficult to locate. While Pokemon GO often adds new Pokemon with varying degrees of difficulty, Poltchageist seems to be proving particularly elusive.
Okay, so Poltchageist is one of the newer Pokemon from the ninth generation, and it’s seriously different! It’s basically made of matcha tea and hangs out in this really cool black and white tea pot. It’s a Ghost and Grass type, which is a neat combo. But with the Pokemon GO Halloween event going on, they’re really highlighting its Ghost side. The downside? Finding one seems super rare, I’ve been looking and haven’t seen one yet!
Pokemon GO Players Are Having Trouble Finding Poltchageist

It only appears in One-Star Raids, which aren’t very difficult, but even finding a Raid to battle has been a challenge. While the fake version, Counterfeit Poltchageist, is relatively common, many players are focused on collecting the rarer Artisan Poltchageist.
Okay, so as a Pokemon GO player, it’s super annoying that the Halloween event is almost over and we’re all scrambling. But honestly? Poltchageist being practically impossible to find feels…right. It is a Ghost-type, and it’s Halloween! It’s like the game is leaning into the spooky theme a little too well, making us wonder if it’s even real!
With the Pokémon GO Halloween event ending soon, players are hoping to see Poltchageist raids happen more often before it’s over. It’s hard to say for sure, but those trying to find this very rare Ghost-type Pokémon will need to be extra vigilant. If you can’t find Poltchageist, don’t worry! The next event in November will give you a chance to catch Tarountula and Spidops.
