Pokemon GO ‘High Voltage’ Event Guide

Morpeko, the Electric/Dark-type Pokémon originally from the 8th generation of games, was added to Pokémon GO in 2024 during the Halloween event. Now, with the new High Voltage event, players can finally encounter and catch the shiny version of this unique Pokémon in both its Full Body and Hangry forms.

Okay, so I’m putting together this guide to cover everything about this event. I’ll walk you through when it ends, all the Research Tasks and what you get for finishing them, and a full breakdown of how to nail the Charged Cuties Collection Challenge. Let’s jump in and get started!

When Does the ‘High Voltage’ Event in Pokemon GO End?

Runs for Five Days

The Pokémon GO High Voltage event begins on Tuesday, November 18th at 10:00 AM local time and runs until Saturday, November 22nd at 8:00 PM.

Which Pokemon Are Debuting in the ‘High Voltage’ Event?

Two New Shinies

Morpeko (Full Belly Mode

Morpeko (Hangry Mode)

Shiny Morpeko (Full Belly Mode)

Shiny Morpeko (Hangry Mode)

Good news for Pokemon GO players who love finding shiny Pokemon! Morpeko is getting a shiny release, and both its regular and Hangry forms will have new, sparkling appearances. The shiny version of Morpeko’s Full Belly Form swaps its usual yellow midsection for a white one. As for the Hangry Form, typically purple and black, its midsection will be a lighter, bluish shade. You can check out pictures of both shiny and standard Morpeko forms above.

Which Pokemon Spawn More During ‘High Voltage’?

I’m so excited for this event! Until Saturday, I’ve been noticing a lot more Electric-type Pokémon appearing – it’s making it a great time to catch them all. And the best part? How to Complete the Charged Cuties Collection Challenge in Pokemon GO

Catch Some Electric Critters

Emolga

Dedenne

Pawmi

Togedemaru

To finish the collection challenge in the High Voltage event, you simply need to catch an Emolga, Dedenne, Pawmi, and Togedemaru. The good news is that all four of these Pokémon will appear more often in the wild until Saturday, and you can even earn some by completing event tasks!

If you manage to find all of them, you’ll earn 2500 XP, 2500 Stardust, and get to battle Morpeko again.

How to Change Morpeko’s Form in Pokemon GO

Only in Battle

When you get a Morpeko, you can switch its form during battle by using its Charged Aura Wheel attack. Aura Wheel is normally an Electric-type move, but it becomes Dark-type when Morpeko is in its Fully Belly mode.

When Morpeko first appeared in Pokémon GO, its form could only change while battling Team GO Rocket or in GO Battle League. We haven’t confirmed if it can change forms in other types of battles yet.
