This year, I’ve been utterly captivated by the thrilling evolution in Pokémon GO with the debut of Dynamax Battles at global Power Spots. Now, it seems like things are gearing up for an even grander adventure as they officially unveil Gigantamax Pokémon within the game!
The initial phase of the official Gigantamax event commences by engaging in battles against enlarged forms of traditional starting Pokémon, and further Gigantamax Pokémon may appear as the Halloween 2024 event continues in two parts. If players manage to triumph over these Gigantamax Pokémon in combat, they will have the opportunity to add these potent creatures to their own collections.
Pokemon GO Gigantamax Event Details
In a press gathering attended by Game Rant, the creators of Pokemon GO announced that Gigantamax Pokemons would join the game starting October 26th. Similar to Dynamax Pokemons, they will show up at specific locations known as Power Spots. These spots are unique areas where battles can be engaged using only previously caught Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemons.
Gigantamax Raid Battles are set to be the biggest and toughest challenges yet in Pokemon GO. Simultaneously, as many as 40 players can engage in a Gigantamax battle at once, although ten participants are suggested for handling these formidable opponents effectively. The payoff is substantial: any caught Pokemon will have the ability to Gigantamax and learn G-Max moves, making it an exceptional ally for future Dynamax and Gigantamax battles. Furthermore, keeping a Gigantamax Pokemon at a Power Spot could lead to the appearance of Dynamax Pokemon for players to fight and catch at that location.
Gigantamax Introduction Event Schedule
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that three legendary Pokémon from Generation 1, the starters, are getting the Gigantamax treatment! Prepare for epic battles with Gigantamax Blastoise, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Venusaur. These colossal creatures will be available to challenge starting from October 26 at 10AM local time, and the fun lasts until October 27 at 8PM local time. The Pokémon GO team has confirmed that due to the event’s short duration, each of these three giants will appear multiple times a day at different Power Spots worldwide, giving us plenty of chances to encounter them during this special event!
In the games Sword and Shield, each Gigantamax Pokemon comes equipped with a strong G-Max Move that’s exclusive to the individual Pokemon. For example, Blastoise uses the Water-type attack G-Max Cannonade, Charizard uses the Fire-type move G-Max Wildfire, and Venusaur employs the Grass-type move G-Max Vine Lash. These moves are significantly more powerful than most of the Charged Attacks found in Pokemon GO.
The Pokemon GO Halloween Event Continues
The ongoing Halloween 2024 event in Pokemon GO consists of two parts. While the introduction of Gigantamaxing is expected to follow, the initial part, focusing on Morpeko’s form-changing abilities, continues from October 22 to October 28. During this phase, players can acquire Morpeko through Timed Research and Field Research tasks, as well as by winning Pokemon GO League Battles.
The specific details about the second event are still under wraps, however, players should anticipate a host of mysterious and scary surprises.
