Pokemon GO Player Has Unbelievable Raid Luck Captures Shiny Legendaries Back to Back

Summary

  • A player got lucky capturing shiny variants of Regirock and Regigigas back to back in Pokemon GO.
  • Regirock and Regigigas are part of the Legendary Titans group, with Regigigas considered their leader.
  • The shiny Shadow Regirock is still available in weekend Pokemon GO Shadow Raids until June 1.

As a dedicated Pokemon GO player, I stumbled upon an extraordinary stroke of luck recently! In quick succession, I managed to catch rare variations of Regigigas and Regirock – quite the double whammy! Catching Legendaries isn’t exactly everyday occurrence in this game, as they’re typically hidden away in challenging raid battles.

As a passionate Pokémon gamer, I’ve come across some fascinating creatures throughout my journey, but none quite like Regirock and Regigigas – two titans from generations 3 and 4, known as the Legendary Titans. Their designs are akin to those of golems, with Regigigas being the mastermind behind this group that includes Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regidrago, and Regieleki. Many consider Regigigas as the leader of this powerful team.

These Legendary Titans share a distinctive feature – a pattern of dots on their foreheads that resemble an arrow pointing upwards for the Normal-type Legendary, Regirock, while it forms an H shape for Regirock. Now, here’s where things get interesting! Unlike the other Titans, Regirock was once revered by humans, who worshipped its power. However, fear eventually took over as they began to seal it away.

But recently, a fellow Pokémon GO player experienced an extraordinarily lucky encounter with this dynamic duo – an encounter that left me green with envy!

On the subreddit for Pokemon GO, user ciphershadowriley posted two remarkable catches: Shiny Shadow Regigigas and Shiny Shadow Regirock in quick succession. The images depict an encounter with a Regigigas having a CP (Combat Power) of 2451, followed by a Regirock with a CP of 1712. In their post, they mentioned that the Legendary duo’s IVs (Individual Values) “aren’t ideal,” without providing additional information. However, they expressed great joy, stating that it took them approximately six or seven raids to secure these impressive finds.

Pokemon GO Player Captures Special Variants of Regigigas and Regirock

In August 2018, Pokemon GO introduced Regirock. Its sparkling version appeared during the “A Colossal Discovery” event in November 2019. The shadowy form of Shiny Regirock was released in February 2025. Regigigas joined Pokemon GO during the same “A Colossal Discovery” event, where it shared the stage with Regice and Registeel. Its shiny form came to the game in June 2021 during the “Summer Solstice” event. This year, in May, Shadow Regigigas’ sparkling form made its debut on Regigigas Shadow Raid Day.

The event showcasing Shiny Shadow Regigigas has concluded, but players can still acquire a Shiny Shadow Regirock until June 1st during weekend Shadow Raids within Pokemon GO. For those eager to expand their Legendary collection, fresh forms of Zacian and Zamazenta will make their debut at Pokemon GO Fest 2025, with Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta set to appear in the game for the first time.
