Summary

  • A Reddit user found a block with 16 Gyms, each hosting Tier 5 Legendary Raids, showcasing disparities between rural and urban areas in Pokemon GO.
  • Pokemon GO added a nomination system for Gyms and PokeStops in 2018, increasing raid access and rewards.
  • Players Level 37+ can nominate landmarks for Gyms and PokeStops, generating more free rewards.

A player of Pokemon GO stumbled upon an entire block filled with Poke Gyms that offered Tier 5 Legendary raid battles simultaneously. Since the implementation of the PokeStop and Gym nomination system in 2018 by Pokemon GO, players have gained increased opportunities to participate in raids and collect rewards.

In the popular game, Pokemon GO, players who have advanced to Level 37 can propose Waypoint submissions for community evaluation. The proposals with the highest ratings could potentially transform into PokeStops or even Gyms on the game’s actual map. Although the development team holds the ultimate decision-making power regarding which locations become PokeStops or Gyms, the nomination system allows many players to claim free-to-play PokeCoins and other rewards more frequently. It is not uncommon for bustling areas to boast more PokeStops and Gyms than quieter ones, though there can be significant distances between them. Remarkably, one Pokemon GO player discovered an unusually high concentration of Gyms in a specific location.

Reddit user Seangetfreaky posted a screenshot showing approximately 16 Pokemon GO gyms in close proximity, all hosting Tier 5 Raids for Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos. These legendary birds were part of the March 2025 events for Pokemon GO, suggesting the image is recent. As the player pointed out, they had never witnessed such an abundance of Raids in close quarters, a sentiment shared by other fans. However, Seangetfreaky admitted they didn’t know the specific location of these gyms since they obtained the picture through a remote Raid group chat.

Pokemon GO Player Finds Area Filled with Legendary Raids

It came as no surprise to gamers that the post revealed an abundance of Gyms in it, yet this sparked discussions among fans about the disparity between rural and bustling locations while playing Pokemon GO. A player highlighted the struggle faced by rural players in getting their PokeStop nominations accepted, contrasting urban areas that can boast over a dozen Gyms within a single city block as shown in the post. For quite some time, rural Pokemon GO players have voiced concerns about their environments having few PokeStops and Gyms, even after making contributions to the game’s map. Lately, rural Pokemon GO enthusiasts have been benefiting from a Research Task that allows them to catch Meloetta, but it is usually urban players who enjoy a smoother gaming experience.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that my favorite game, Pokémon GO, has announced its next Raid Day on March 23, featuring the mighty Mega Absol! Just like in previous Raid events, we’ll each receive five additional passes from Gyms. Plus, they’ve given us a sneak peek into what’s coming up in April – get ready for the debut of Gigantamax Snorlax!
