Summary
- Fans are upset over the lack of Ice-type spawns during Pokemon GO’s Christmas event.
- Players express disappointment, claiming there are too many Dark and Poison-type spawns in the Holiday Part 2 event.
As a seasoned Pokémon GO player who’s spent countless hours traversing the real world in search of digital creatures, I must admit I find myself somewhat disheartened by this year’s Holiday event. The lackluster spawns and the apparent absence of Ice-type Pokemon during Christmas have left me feeling a bit chilly, to say the least.
Fans of Pokemon GO are expressing dissatisfaction about the Christmas-themed Pokemon releases, as they feel that the featured Pokemon don’t quite capture the Holiday spirit. Each year, fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of the Holiday event in Pokemon GO, which offers them an opportunity to catch rare Pokemon. However, this year’s event seems to have fallen short in the eyes of the community.
During the initial phase of the Holiday extravaganza in Pokemon GO, Sandygast made its first appearance adorned with a shiny coat, accompanied by Dedenne donning festive attire. In addition to this, players were treated to a wide array of special spawns, quests, and much more. The costumed versions of these Pokemon are highly coveted within the game, as they can only be obtained during special events and offer an intriguing twist to players’ favorite creatures. However, it appears that some of the other wild spawns included in this year’s event have not been received favorably by the community.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit user CombProfessional434 expresses their frustration over the ongoing Christmas event in Pokemon GO. The player highlights how the Holiday Part 2 event spawns in Pokemon GO are dominated by Dark and Poison-type spawns. According to them, the featured spawns do not match the vibe of the Holiday season. They further suggest that Pokemon such as Wooloo, Delibird, and costumed Pikachu or Eevees would’ve been much more apt for the event.
Pokemon GO Players Frustrated With Lack of Ice-type Pokemon
It appears that many players within the Pokemon GO community are sharing similar opinions. They’re quite taken aback by the scarcity of Ice-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO during winter, especially since it’s winter and you’d expect more of these creatures around. One player even mentioned that they’ve been finding it challenging to complete a quest requiring them to find three Ice-type Pokemon, despite the cold temperatures outside. The only event that seems to have made fans happy is the recently finished Delibird Spotlight Hour in Pokemon GO, as it offered them an opportunity to catch a highly desired Pokemon.
It appears that many players are dissatisfied with the Dual Destiny season in Pokemon GO overall. They find the concept of contrasting themes suitable for a single event, but extending it over an entire season feels excessive to them. Although the initial part of the Pokemon GO Holiday event was appreciated by the community, Niantic seems to have fallen short with their latest offering for this year.
