The modification in the presentation of caught Pokemon within Pokemon GO has sparked disapproval among fans. Critics argue that this alteration doesn’t make logical sense and might even complicate the process of securely sharing screenshots from Pokemon GO featuring captured Pokemon.
Some Pokemon GO players express frustration with the latest update, while others are engrossed in the excitement of the new Swim Ring Psyduck release, which was introduced in collaboration with Pokemon Concierge, the Netflix animated series featuring a prominent role for Psyduck. Unluckily, those who have managed to catch this Psyduck and checked their records have encountered an annoying issue, leading them to demand a change.
Pokemon GO UI Change Isn’t Popular
Users on social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit are expressing their disapproval towards a recent update in the user interface (UI) of Pokemon GO, specifically when viewing captured Pokemon. Now, details about where and when a Pokemon was caught have been shifted to the upper half of the screen, appearing right beneath the Pokemon’s type, weight, and height. Many players find this change unsatisfactory because they rarely need to check this information, thus finding it unnecessary and cluttered at the top of the screen.
Moreover, the new UI no longer indicates whether a Pokemon was caught while the player was in a group with other trainers, which has left some fans feeling disappointed. Questions have arisen as to why these modifications were implemented and what benefits they were intended to provide, as several players perceive this as nothing more than a decline in user experience.
Instead of just finding this extra information on the screen bothersome due to its space consumption, users have raised concerns that it makes sharing screenshots of captured Pokémon more troublesome because of potential doxxing risks. Fans of Pokémon GO have expressed worry about inadvertently revealing their location when they share screenshots, and now need to edit or blur the images to remove the details of where a Pokémon was caught. Earlier, this information appeared only after scrolling down on the Pokémon’s listing, so sharing an image from the top didn’t pose any issues as it still conveyed essential data like a Pokémon’s CP and overall stats without disclosing the specific location.

In its continuous evolution as a living game, Pokemon GO occasionally undergoes changes. If there’s enough player feedback expressing dissatisfaction, these changes may be reversed. However, at present, players must adapt to the recently implemented display order.
