Pokemon GO Replay Event Brings Back Gigantamax Starters

Niantic has announced a special event called ‘Replay: GO Bigger’ for Pokemon GO players in April. The event will feature exciting rewards, unique bonuses, and the return of popular Kanto Pokemon in their Gigantamax forms. Niantic regularly introduces limited-time events and bonuses to Pokemon GO, adding to the game’s seasonal content. This latest event brings back some beloved Kanto Pokemon as their powerful G-Max versions later this month.

Pokémon GO has had a busy few weeks! They recently held a special Fashion Raid Day on April 4th, and for April Fools’ Day, they finally added Mimikyu – a Pokémon fans have been requesting for a long time. Although some thought it might be a prank, Niantic confirmed Mimikyu was legitimately added during their ‘A Shockingly Good Time’ event. Players who completed the event pass could encounter Mimikyu at levels 30 and 60. Later this month, players will also have another opportunity to battle Gigantamax Pokémon from the Kanto region.

Pokemon GO Replay: GO Bigger Event Start Time

  • Saturday, April 25 from 2pm–5pm

Niantic announced on their blog that powerful Pokémon from the Kanto region – including Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Gengar – will be appearing in Pokémon GO during a special event called Replay: GO Bigger, starting April 25th. Players should collect plenty of Max Particles, as these Gigantamax forms will appear at Power Spots. There’s also a chance to find shiny versions of these Pokémon!

The Pokemon GO Replay: GO Bigger event will include several in-game perks. Players can collect up to 1,600 Max Particles, Power Spots will refresh more often, and you’ll earn 8 times the usual amount of Max Particles, plus get 3 special trades. Niantic is also temporarily increasing the daily limit for remote raids from 10 to 20. For those interested, an optional event ticket is available, offering exclusive timed research and additional bonuses.

Before the Replay: GO Bigger event, Pokémon GO is celebrating Earth Day with its annual Sustainability Week from April 14th to April 20th. During this event, you’ll have a better chance of finding the Galar Pokémon Silicobra and its evolved form, Sandaconda, in the wild. Keep an eye out for shiny Toedscool and Galarian Corsola – they’ll be appearing more rarely with their signature pink sunglasses!
