In August 2025, I’ll be on the lookout for a special Munchlax Hatch Day event in Pokemon GO! It seems there will be some fantastic limited bonuses up for grabs, like shorter hatch distances. As we get closer to the Delightful Days season finale, it’s gearing up to be one heck of an exciting ride in this game!
Ever since Toxel debuted in 2024, various Baby Pokemon have made their appearance within Pokemon GO. Despite their limited number, some of these cute creatures can be tricky to capture. Consequently, Pokemon GO occasionally organizes Hatch Day events aimed at assisting players in adding these elusive monsters to their Pokedex. The most recent Hatch Day took place in April and showcased Tyrogue. Now, the mobile game has unveiled a new event scheduled for August, featuring a critter from Generation 4.
On August 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time, Pokemon GO is hosting a Munchlax Hatch Day. This means that during this period, you’ll find Munchlax hatching more frequently from 2 km Eggs, and t00 AM to the end of the event, hatch distances will be cut in half! This six-hour event is twice as long as previous ones, addressing concerns that past Hatch Days were too short to fully enjoy the bonuses. It appears the developers have taken player feedback into account when planning this upcoming event.

During the same period when Munchlax hatches in Pokemon GO, Snom makes its debut. Since Snom is an Ice-type Pokemon that will only hatch from 7 km eggs, having a shorter hatch distance bonus might be beneficial for players. Additionally, during this event, unique Timed Research tasks will be accessible, offering free Incubators and 5,000 XP as rewards. Players can also buy a ticket priced at $2 to receive extra Timed Research tasks, which grant double the Stardust, two Super Incubators, and one Star Piece.
Notable happenings are approaching for Pokemon GO, such as the highly anticipated introduction of Eternatus on August 23 and 24 during the GO Fest: Max Finale, and the game will also introduce Rookidee’s Community Day on August 30 following its victory in an official fan vote.
