As a dedicated Pokemon Go player with years of experience under my belt, I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming Ultra Unlock: Better Together event! The teaser for this event following Go Fest 2024 has me on the edge of my seat. I’ve been eagerly waiting for new species to appear in the game, and this event promises not one but two debuts – Tandemaus and Maushold!
Following Go Fest 2024, Pokemon Go has hinted at more exciting activities during the Shared Skies season. These include extra rewards, new Pokemon appearances, and a few unexpected treats.
Title of the initial Ultra Unlock event: “Better Together” – Here’s a rundown of its key features.
Ultra Unlock: Better Together dates
During the Ultra Unlock: Better Together event from July 17, 2024, 10 AM onwards until July 22, 2024, 8 PM local time, participation is welcome.

As a long-time Pokemon Go trainer with years of experience catching various creatures in the game, I can confidently say that not all listed species in this event can be shiny. Magneton is the exception to this rule. However, two new species, Tandemaus and Maushold, will make their debut during the event, but they won’t appear in the wild. So, keep your eyes peeled for special encounters or raids instead!
Ultra Unlock: Better Together Field & Timed Research
During the event, you’ll find research tasks themed around specific events. These tasks allow players to potentially come across the following Pokémon: Slowpoke, its Galarian form, Voltorb, Hisuian Voltorb, Koffing, Combee, Darumaka with its Galarian variant, Vanillite, Deino, and Tandemaus.
Instead of that, playing Timed Research for free brings about another benefit; encounters with Tandemaus as well as earning XP and Stardust. Remember, you’ll require 50 Tandemaus Candies to evolve it into Maushold afterwards.
