Starting December 11th, Pokémon GO is launching a new event called Well Armed! Players worldwide will be able to team up to complete challenges and earn special rewards, including new bonuses and Pokémon encounters. Niantic has hinted that December will be packed with content for Pokémon GO players.
Niantic, the company behind Pokemon GO, recently shared its plans for the game through December 2025 and has been keeping players informed. December’s Community Day will be similar to previous years, featuring Pokemon that were previously available during Community Days throughout 2025. From December 6th to 7th, players can find Pokemon like Totodile, Pawmi, Pikipek, and Jagmo-o, among others, from past events. Niantic also gave a first look at their upcoming Well Armed event.
Pokemon GO Well Armed Event Start and End Times
- December 11–December 16
Starting December 11th at 10am local time, players can join new Global Challenges as part of the Well Armed event in Pokémon GO. Niantic announced that these challenges will require teamwork to complete throughout the event, including participating in Max Battles.
Niantic hasn’t said exactly how many Max Battles players will need to complete, but doing so will unlock rewards for everyone, like more candy and a chance to find Mienfoo and Jangmo-o in the wild. There will also be optional, paid Timed Research and items available in the Web Store for those interested.
Completing these challenges will introduce Clobbopus, the Tantrum Pokémon, and its evolved form, Grapploct, originally from Pokémon Sword and Shield. Players might also be able to find these Pokémon in the wild or through Field Research tasks during the event. To evolve Clobbopus into Grapploct, you’ll need to collect 50 Candy for the Fighting-type Pokémon.
In addition to the Global Challenge, the Well Armed event offers immediate benefits without needing to unlock them. You’ll get twice as much candy when you catch Pokémon, and you’ll have a better chance of finding shiny versions of Dynamax Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Special Field Research tasks with rewards like TMs will also be available, and certain Pokémon – including Octillery, Poliwag, Machop, and Makuhita – will appear more often.
