The popular mobile game, Pokemon GO, has unveiled plans for Wild Area 2025, introducing the Impidimp evolutionary line into the game. This update will not only bring in the new characters but also enlarge the collection of shiny Pokemon, and offer a host of additional content to players.
As an enthusiastic fan, I can’t help but reminisce about my first encounter with Pokémon GO’s Wild Area back in November 2024. It all began with a thrilling, in-person event held in the vibrant city of Fukuoka, Japan, on the 16th and 17th of that month. The excitement was palpable as we were introduced to the spectacular Gigantamax Toxtricity and the groundbreaking GO Safari Ball, marking their global debut a week later!
Approximately a year following Niantic’s announcement of the return of the Pokemon GO event known as Wild Area 2024, the company has officially confirmed that it will indeed take place this year. The opening for Wild Area 2025 will be in Nagasaki City, where an in-person gathering is scheduled from November 7 to 9. This will be followed by a global celebration spanning two days on November 15 and 16. During both events, Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl will make their debuts in Pokemon GO, with the Dark/Fairy dual-type creatures serving as the main attractions of the event.
Pokemon GO Wild Area 2025 Schedule
- November 7–9: Nagasaki City, Japan event
- November 15–16: Global event
The concept of the latest Wild Area event is similar to its previous version, as Niantic aims to create an open, interactive atmosphere reminiscent of capturing pocket monsters in recent main series games. In line with this, powerful Pokemon from Pokemon GO will reappear, offering rare wild encounters boasting higher stats and exclusive special moves that their standard counterparts can’t use. During the event, Shadow Darkrai and Shadow Cresselia will be available for five-star raids.
In the gaming world of 2025, I’m hyped to share that Shiny Hatenna is making its grand entrance in our beloved mobile game Pokémon GO! This beauty will be found as a wild encounter, adding more excitement to our adventures.
Get ready, fellow trainers! We have two rotating spawn hours lined up for us. The first one, dubbed the Lurking Dark Hour, brings to mind those eerie nights in Persona 3. Prepare to see Alolan Meowth, Grimer, Gastly, Seedot, Skorupi, Stunky, and over a dozen other Pokémon popping up during this period.
Following the Lurking Dark Hour, we have something truly magical for you-the Fanciful Fairy Hour! This time will see increased spawn chances for Clefairy, Alolan Vulpix, Jigglypuff, Galarian Ponyta, Marill, Ralts, and many other Fairy-type Pokémon. Get ready to fill up your Pokedex with these enchanting creatures!
During the event, the GO Safari Ball will make its comeback as a vital tool for capturing challenging objectives. Those who buy event tickets will be granted access to Special Research, which includes Dark or Fairy themed paths, avatar rewards, and higher Shiny chances. Additionally, limited-time research tasks will highlight Pokemon thematically connected to the event. On a broader scale, Wild Area 2025 seems to underscore Niantic’s continued dedication to hosting hybrid events for Pokémon GO as a means of keeping enthusiasm for their 2016 game alive through diverse offerings.
