Pokemon Go’s Team Rocket event skips eagerly awaited Dragon-type Legendary

As a dedicated gamer with countless hours spent capturing and training Pokémon, I cannot help but feel disheartened by Niantic’s decision to have Giovanni’s Shadow Legendary be Cresselia instead of Rayquaza during this season’s Team Rocket event.

As a long-time Pokemon Go player, I was really looking forward to this season’s Team Rocket event, especially since the rumors were swirling that Rayquaza would finally make an appearance as Giovanni’s legendary Pokemon. Boy, was I disappointed when the announcement came out and it turned out to be yet another shadow legendary instead!

1. Alternatively, it’s Team Rocket Boss who will possess Cresselia, a hefty Psychic-type Pokemon. Although Cresselia proves powerful in the Great and Ultra Leagues, Rayquaza – a Dragon/Flying type – stands out as one of the top attackers within the current meta.

1. The community voiced their displeasure in the comments of the Reddit post by ‘Entire_Pineapple4732’, as they were disappointed with the choice not to include Rayquaza, following the past events where Giovanni was associated with Kyogre and Groudon.

Rayquaza is one of the three Legendary creatures from the Hoenn region’s Weather Trio, which also includes Kyogre and Groudon. With Kyogre and Groudon appearing in sequence, it was only natural for Team Rocket’s leader, Giovanni, to choose Rayquaza this season due to its Dragon-type prowess.

Why? Just why??

As a passionate gamer, I eagerly anticipated Shadow Rayquaza, expecting it to be the ultimate PvE Pokemon due to its astonishing damage potential. This anticipation sparked speculation among us players that Niantic might have been holding back on releasing this Legendary creature because of its immense profit-making potential, often referred to as a “cash cow.” Some players even went so far as to claim the developers were intentionally “trolling” fans by delaying its release.

Some trainers suggested that as Mega Rayquaza Raids were scheduled for August 3, 2024, it might be wiser to overlook Rayquaza due to an overemphasis on that specific Pokémon. Yet, the majority of players disagreed with this perspective.

1. The user pointed out: “It’s clear that Rayquaza is favored over Cresselia by the player community, or Pokemon fans in general. Furthermore, Shadow Ray has some value in Player versus Environment (PvE), though not as much as Mega Ray, while Cresselia lacks this utility in PvP. This situation often results in frustration.”

During this time, if you’re searching for more robust Dragon-type Pokemons in Pokemon Go, I can suggest a method to acquire thePseudo Legendaries such asSalamence, Hydreigon, and Garchomp.
