There’s a current problem with the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Tera Raid event. Players are unable to join raids that are hosted by people who own the opposite version of the game, and The Pokemon Company has apologized for the inconvenience. They are investigating these Tera Raid issues for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but haven’t said when they expect to have a solution.
Starting October 2, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hosted a special Paradox Tera Raid event, featuring challenging Seven-Star battles against Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant. Trainers also had the chance to battle Five-Star Tera Raids against Paradox Pokemon such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads. Iron Valiant appears as a Fairy-Tera type Pokemon, and Roaring Moon is a Dragon-Tera Pokemon. This Tera Raid event ends on Sunday, October 12, at 7:59 PM Eastern time. Whether Iron Valiant and Roaring Moon will be available to battle again in the future is unknown, giving Pokemon trainers a limited window to take part.
Pokemon Acknowledges Issues With October 2025 Paradox Tera Raid Event
Past Paradox Tera Raid events in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet let trainers battle in raids designed for the opposite version of the game using the internet. However, that’s not currently working with Iron Valiant and Roaring Moon. Some Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players wondered if this was a deliberate change, but The Pokemon Company has explained that a bug is causing the issue. Right now, players with Pokemon Scarlet can’t join Iron Valiant Tera Raids, and Pokemon Violet players can’t battle Roaring Moon. The Pokemon Company is looking into the bug and has apologized for the trouble. Unfortunately, they haven’t given a specific date for when it will be fixed, so Pokemon trainers will need to be patient and wait for further updates.
Currently, Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant can only be fought in their specific forms while we fix an issue. When you battle them, Roaring Moon will start with Sunny Day and Iron Valiant with Electric Terrain. These moves will then trigger their special abilities – Protosynthesis for Roaring Moon and Quark Drive for Iron Valiant – which each raise one of their highest stats. Because each of these powerful Seven-Star Paradox Pokemon can boost its strengths and cover its weaknesses, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will need to cancel out these stat boosts to make the Tera Raid battles more manageable.

Following problems with Paradox Tera Raids and the debated distribution of Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have been sharing their frustrations online. It’s currently unclear what steps The Pokemon Company will take to fix the ongoing issues with Tera Raids.
