Pokemon Leaker May Hint at Legends Galar Ahead of Pokemon Day

With Pokemon Day quickly approaching and the 30th anniversary just four days away on February 27th, fans are anticipating big news from The Pokemon Company. They’ve promised a year-long celebration with multiple new games and updates planned. While many expect announcements about the next generation of Pokemon games (Gen 10), a recent post from a well-known Pokemon leaker suggests we might also hear about a possible Legends: Galar game. This comes relatively soon after the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A in October, and its Mega Dimension DLC in December.

Originally considered as a follow-up to the Legends games, information about Pokemon Legends: Galar first appeared in a leak from October 2025, known as the TeraLeak. Internal documents from Game Freak described the game as taking place in an ancient version of the Galar region, long before Poke Balls existed. The game was planned to feature a unique mechanic where players would build up large groups of Pokemon, similar to the Pikmin series, to fight against Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon. While talk of Pokemon Legends: Galar died down, a recent tweet from Riddler Khu has brought the possibility back into discussion.

Pokemon: Legends Galar May Show Itself Sooner Than You Expected

Well-known leaker Riddler Khu recently shared a 30th anniversary logo for Pokemon on Twitter, featuring Hisuian Voltorb. This is part of a larger promotional campaign celebrating 30 years of Pokemon, which includes logos featuring the number ’30’ and every Pokemon ever created. Riddler Khu shared the Hisuian Voltorb logo with a sunglasses emoji, strongly suggesting a leak. Given rumors that Pokemon Legends: Galar will be set before the invention of the Poke Ball, the choice of Hisuian Voltorb – a Pokemon that resembles a Poke Ball – seems deliberate.

This would make sense, considering that:

  • Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a Gen 8 game, releasing at the rear end of the Sword and Shield era.
  • Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s new Mega Evolutions were one of the most popular parts of the game, and most of them were praised by fans for their designs.
  • Pokemon Legends: Galar tackling the Dynamax phenomenon with unique G-Max forms and moves would be a great follow-up release, with a lot of potential for the gimmick to shine again and then come back in full force in Pokemon Champions.

Why The Leak May Be For Legends: Arceus on Switch 2

However, there’s a more likely, though less thrilling, explanation for the leaked tweet. Since the Pokémon featured is only found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and with Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen coming to the Switch and potentially Switch 2 on Pokémon Day, this leak could be hinting at an upgraded version of PLA for the Switch 2. This idea makes sense because Pokémon Legends: Arceus has received criticism for its graphics since it was released, and the game doesn’t look great now, especially considering the performance problems with the most recent Pokémon games.

While a reveal of Pokemon Legends: Galar doesn’t quite fit the current schedule – it’s likely still a couple of years off – the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise makes it possible. Releasing a Switch 2 version of Pokemon Legends: Arceus as a full new purchase could upset fans, and even a $10 upgrade might be too expensive, especially considering Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen cost $15. For now, fans will have to be patient, but a reliable source, Riddler Khu, often shares hints about upcoming announcements before official events.
