Data miners have discovered unused animations for the character Mable within the files of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. These animations might have been cut from the game or could be intended for a future update. Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the follow-up to the 2022 game Pokemon Legends: Arceus, significantly changed the traditional Pokemon formula with major new features. This latest installment focuses entirely on Lumiose City and introduced real-time battles – a first for a core Pokemon game. Many players especially enjoyed the game’s interesting and varied cast of characters.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A features a diverse cast of characters, including both newcomers and familiar faces. Players quickly become involved with Team MZ, meeting either Taunie or Urbain and soon after, Lida and Naveen. The game also brings back AZ, a mysterious character from Pokemon X and Y, who now owns Hotel Z. Other supporting characters, like Mable and Emma, have more prominent roles in this installment. Recently, a fan discovered some animations for Mable that weren’t used in the final game.

So, I was checking out Lewtwo’s Twitter – they’re a great Pokémon content creator and data miner – and they found some cool, unused animations from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Apparently, they dug up animations of the professor, Mable, doing a fist pump like she won something, and also just a really hearty laugh! It’s neat because her Rotom companion reacts to her – it floats around during the fist pump and actually shakes with her when she’s laughing. We don’t know why these animations were cut, or what they were originally for, but it’s a fun little discovery!

Fans and a developer known as Lewtwo have been discussing what unused animations for the character Mable might have been for. Some believe they could have been intended for battles with legendary Pokémon, but these animations aren’t present in the post-game content of Legends: Z-A. Others think they might be saved for a future update, possibly making Mable a post-game boss. Lewtwo also points out that the game’s files contain other unused animations for various characters, suggesting they weren’t implemented in the final version.

Unused animations discovered in Pokemon Legends: Z-A might be a sign of things to come, specifically the DLC that Game Freak has already announced. Many fans believe this DLC will feature Mega Raichu as a key Mega Evolution. Called the “Mega Dimension,” the expansion is also rumored to add a new storyline focusing on the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa. It seems the story of Pokemon Legends: Z-A will continue with this exciting new content.
