Players of Pokemon Legends: Z-A have discovered a technique to hunt for multiple shiny Alpha Pokemon simultaneously in the Wild Zone 20. Combined with a shiny duplication glitch and an early shiny hunting method found in Wild Zone 3, the game has become extremely popular with fans who enjoy collecting shiny Pokemon, as they are relatively easy to find. Here are some of the most common shiny hunting methods:
- Bench-resetting (benches can be found on Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s interactive map)
- Despawn running (running 70m away from the target and then 50m toward it)
- Flying method (repeatedly flying to a location, resetting all Pokemon in a 50m radius)
- Door method (this only works for shiny Pokemon in Legends: Z-A‘s Wild Zone 3)
- Fossil reset (purchasing 10+ fossils and reviving them, then closing the game if no shiny appears)
Players are constantly discovering new and inventive ways to find shiny Pokémon. One recent technique allows players to collect up to six Alpha Pokémon in Wild Zone 20 and then repeatedly reset the game to increase their chances of finding a shiny. This method is in addition to others, like the ‘ghost walk method’ which requires a special turbo controller and only works in the same area.
How to Shiny Hunt Up to 6 Alpha Pokemon At Once in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
A Discord user named EagleBMW first discovered this method, and popular YouTuber Austin John Plays later explained it in a detailed video. Having the Shiny Charm in Pokemon Legends: Z-A makes finding these special Alpha Pokemon much quicker. Here’s how the process works, step-by-step:
- Get aggro from both Alpha Pokemon at the base of the tower in Wild Zone 20, then lead them to the stream facing North.
- Exit Wild Zone 20 and immediately save, then close and restart the game.
- Walk back into Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Wild Zone 20, get aggro from the Alpha Pokemon near the stream, and then lead them toward the North gate. Then, exit the gate, save, and restart the game.
- Walk away from the gate, about 60m (which can be easily figured out by putting a pin on the map where the gate is), then save and restart.
- Run back to the gate, check if both Alphas are still there, then enter the area and go to the center without moving past 70m from the gate while holding aggro from the previous two Alphas. Under the tower should be two more Alpha Pokemon. Get aggro from them, and then lead both these two and the previous two to the stream facing North.
- At this point, rinse and repeat the previous steps until all four Alpha Pokemon are at the gate, then get their aggro as well as that of the one or two more Pokemon that appear under the tower, and repeat the steps until all five or six Alphas are at the gate, then save.
- Get knocked out by the Alpha Pokemon, then go back to Wild Zone 20 and check if all Alphas are under the tower. If so, shiny hunt as preferred with the typical methods.
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, players can start shiny hunting more safely after catching five or six Alpha Pokemon near the tower in the Wild Zone 20. Keep in mind that the Alpha Pokemon you find will keep changing until you discover a shiny one. Once a shiny appears, both its species and its shiny status will be fixed, even if you continue to reset other Pokemon.
This method for getting extra Alpha Pokémon is safe to use, unlike a recent glitch in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It won’t risk a console ban or other problems because the extra Pokémon don’t interfere with the game’s code and aren’t flagged as duplicates when transferred to Pokémon Home.
Players have a good chance of finding shiny Pokemon in Wild Zone 20 of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, as it’s a common spawn location for some of the game’s strongest creatures. Certain Alpha Pokemon and their shiny versions, such as Eelektross, Skarmory, and the Eeveelutions, can be particularly difficult to encounter.
