Side Mission 144, “Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery,” is a quest in Pokemon Legends: Z-A where you help a trainer locate a hidden spot in the game world. The trainer only gives you one picture as a clue!

If you’re not familiar with Lumiose City, finding the right bench for this quest can take some searching, as the game doesn’t mark its location on the map. Here’s a guide to help you find it.

How to Start Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

To begin Side Mission 144, “Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery,” in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, find and speak with Sasse. She’s the woman standing near someone just south of Wild Zone 7.

So, this woman asked me to find a specific bench on the rooftop. Apparently, it’s where a recent photo of her and someone named Canari was taken. The only thing she gave me to go on is… the photo itself. Hopefully, that’s enough to figure it out!

Canari’s Bench Location

The photo of Canari was taken on a rooftop close by. Go to the spot shown on the map and use the ladder to get up there. Once you’re on the roof, turn right and go up to the next level. You’ll see two benches next to each other.

The bench on the right belongs to Canari. If you interact with it, a cutscene will begin, and you’ll see Sasse with her Manectric.

How to Take a Picture of Sasse at Canari’s Bench

After you locate the bench, Sasse will ask you to recreate a photo – she wants you to take a picture of her and her Manectric from the same angle as the photo of Canari. You’ll need to go to the balcony of the building next door, which overlooks the bench, to get the correct shot (as shown in the picture).

Okay, so to get to Sasse and her Manectric, you basically need to walk all the way around the rooftop path. The screenshots show exactly which way to go, so just follow those! Once you’re on the balcony, head over to the railing – you’ll spot them sitting on the bench right there. It’s a pretty cool spot!

Approach the metal railing on the left side of the screen, and you’ll see a message asking if you want to “Take Photo.” Press the A button to snap the picture, and a cutscene will begin, completing the mission.

The balcony has two places where the game asks you to take a photo, but only one is correct. Don’t worry if you choose the wrong one – Sasse will simply ask you to try the other spot if the angle isn’t right.

After you finish the quest ‘Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery’ in Pokemon Legends: Z-A by photographing Sasse, she’ll give you these rewards:

  • 2,300 Poke Dollars
  • Fast Ball x5
