Players will receive free Mega Stones for certain Pokémon by transferring data from Pokémon Legends: Z-A into Pokémon Champions. It seems Pokémon Champions will have some exciting Mega Evolution features, and letting players Mega Evolve four Pokémon simply by transferring them from another game is a fantastic way to help them begin their journey.
Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Champions will launch on Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2026, with a mobile version for iOS and Android coming afterward. The game is free to start and centers around Pokemon battles in an arena setting. Players can compete in ranked, casual, or private matches, and will eventually be able to battle each other across different devices once the mobile version is available. Battles will be both one-on-one and team-based, featuring squads of six Pokemon.

The team behind Pokemon Champions has been excited about bringing back Mega Evolution, and they’ve announced a way to help players get Mega Stones quickly. Nintendo of America revealed that if you transfer the final evolved forms of the original Kalos starters from Pokemon Legends: Z-A to the Pokemon Home app and then to Pokemon Champions, you’ll receive free Mega Stones. This lets you potentially Mega Evolve Greninja, Delphox, Chesnaught, and even Eternal Flower Floette.

Greninja, Delphox, and Chesnaught have been popular Pokémon since they first appeared in Pokémon X and Y, and they’re also included in the new game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Both games are set in the Kalos region of the Pokémon world. While the Pokémon it evolves from has been available for a while, Eternal Flower Floette is a special version that’s new to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and you can only get one per playthrough. To obtain an Eternal Flower Floette, players must first finish the main story, then earn at least 50,000 Combat Points in the Infinite Z-A Royale. After that, you’ll need a Challenger’s Ticket and then win 15 Reward Matches against skilled trainers.
A major benefit of Pokemon Champions is that it works with Pokemon Home, a service that lets you store and easily move Pokemon between different games in the series. You can play Pokemon Champions even without Pokemon Home – the game lets you recruit new Pokemon for a week at a time, and you can use Victory Points to get more recruits or add them permanently to your team. However, many players will want to connect to games like Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to bring their existing Pokemon into Champions. This allows them to continue playing with those Pokemon and further train them – including customizing their abilities and stats – although any training progress won’t carry over to other games.
One way Pokemon Champions is drawing in players is by giving away free Mega Stones, letting them experience the power of Mega Evolution. A recent trailer revealed that Mega Evolved Pokemon in the game will have access to unique and powerful abilities not found anywhere else. While a full list isn’t available yet, some of these abilities include Mega Feraligatr’s Dragonize, which changes Normal-type moves into Dragon-type, and Mega Meganium’s Mega Sol, which creates harsh sunlight, allowing moves like Solar Beam to be used instantly.
