If you’re playing Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you might want to jump into Ranked Battles! Season 4 has just started, and there are some awesome rewards available. But the biggest prize – a special, exclusive reward – goes to players who reach the highest rank, S, this season.
Ranked Battles in Pokemon Legends: Z-A let players put their teamwork and battling skills to the test against others online. You earn points by competing in four-player Link Battles, with more points awarded for better performance. Each Ranked Battle Season, players start at the Z Rank and climb through the ranks to unlock rewards. These rewards change each season, but are generally worth earning for committed players, giving even long-time fans a reason to keep playing.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A Ranked Battle Season 4 is Live, and Players Should Try to Reach Rank S
The fourth season of ranked battles in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is now open and runs until January 7, 2026, at 5:59 PM PST. Players who reach the S Rank will receive a special item called Baxcalibrite, which allows Baxcalibur to Mega Evolve into Mega Baxcalibur. This item can’t be found anywhere else in the game, so now is the time to earn it. During this season, you can also earn Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, and Greninjite – Mega Stones that were available in past ranked battle seasons. You’ll get Chesnaughtite at U Rank, Delphoxite at W Rank, and Greninjite at Y Rank. While Baxcalibrite is exclusive to this season, there’s a possibility it might be available again in the future.
Ranked Battles Season 4 lets players use Pokémon numbered 001-227 from the original Lumiose Pokédex, or Pokémon numbered 001-112 from the Hyperspace Pokédex introduced in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC. You can register any Pokémon between Levels 1 and 100, but all Pokémon will be leveled down to 50 for battles. Pokémon are allowed to hold items during Ranked Battles, but you can’t use the same item on multiple Pokémon.
Besides special rewards, players will also receive season rewards at the end of Ranked Battle Season 4. These rewards are based on your final rank and will give you a head start in the next season. You can find a list of the Season 4 rewards below.

While opinions on Pokemon Legends: Z-A were somewhat varied, it was still a success for The Pokemon Company. This suggests players are eager for the next generation of Pokemon, Generation 10. Unfortunately, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company haven’t announced when we can expect to learn more about it, and are keeping details under wraps for now.
