Some enthusiasts speculate that Pokemon Legends: Z-A might be hinting at two additional Mega Evolutions through its character descriptions. The concept of Mega Evolution was initially presented in Pokemon X and Y as a transient evolution where particular Pokemon can assume potent new forms upon encountering a specific item during combat. This mechanic has been absent from the main Pokemon series since Generation 7 games, but it seems to be making a grand return in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
Nintendo has announced that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will introduce fresh Mega Evolutions, as well as reoccurring forms from past titles such as Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Absol, and Mega Charizard X. The July 22 Pokemon Presents livestream showcased a new Mega Evolution for Mega Dragonite, an enhanced Generation 1 Dragon-type that blends traits from its prior evolutions. In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, even wild Pokemon can achieve Mega Evolutions; however, these unruly Rogue Mega Pokemon necessitate the player’s intervention and collaboration with a new group called Team MZ.
The Twitter user CentroLeaks recently disclosed character profiles for two members of Team MZ, which were unveiled during the Pokemon Legends: Z-A segment of the July 22 Pokemon Presents. Linda is a dance school student who has joined Team MZ in exchange for free accommodation; her partner is Staryu from Generation 1. Naveen, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming fashion designer who teams up with the Dark/Fighting hybrid Scraggy.
This version maintains the original’s meaning while using simpler language and a more conversational tone to make it easier for readers to understand.
Pokemon Fans Think Legends: Z-A Will Introduce Mega Evolutions for Starmie and Scrafty
Some Twitter users have noticed that Linda and Naveen appear to wear Mega Stones on their bracelets. Given that Team MZ primarily focuses on Mega Evolutions, it’s not entirely implausible that their Pokemon companions could also undergo some form of Mega Evolution. Previous leaks related to Pokémon Legends: Z-A hinted at the possibility of new Mega Evolutions being introduced for Starmie and Scrafty, which are the final evolutions of Staryu and Scraggy respectively.

Indeed, it’s all conjecture for now, but there are many Pokémon yet to receive a Mega Evolution, and Starmie and Scrafty could potentially be among them, given their significant roles in “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”. If these rumors and speculations hold true, players might have the opportunity to incorporate Mega Starmie and Mega Scrafty into their own teams when “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” debuts on both major Nintendo consoles on October 16.
