After a several-year hiatus, Mega Evolution is set to reappear in the upcoming game titled “Pokémon Legends: Z-A”. This new title is designed as a sequel to “Pokémon X and Y”, and will heavily incorporate the Mega Evolution mechanic, both in terms of gameplay and storyline. In “Pokémon Legends: Z-A”, the narrative centers around an enigmatic event that causes Pokémon wandering Lumiose City streets to transform into their Mega Evolved states unexpectedly. These anomalous Pokémon, known as Rogue Mega Pokémon in the game, are causing chaos within the city. Players must harness their own Mega Pokémon to counteract and quell these disturbances.
In “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, several Mega Pokemon from the Generation 6 games like Mega Sableye, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Charizard will return. It remains uncertain if all Mega Pokemon from those titles will be included, but Game Freak has assured us that it will add some novel Mega Evolution forms of its own. One such example is Hawlucha, the popular Fighting/Flying-type Pokemon, which will be able to undergo Mega Evolution in “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”.
Hawlucha is Getting a Mega Evolution Form in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Hawlucha is a two-legged bird-like character from the Pokemon universe, first appearing in Pokemon X and Y. In these games, Hawlucha couldn’t evolve into or from any other Pokemon, and its abilities weren’t particularly outstanding. However, in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, players will have the opportunity to make Hawlucha transform into the significantly stronger Mega Hawlucha. On the official Pokemon website, Mega Hawlucha is described as a muscular Pokemon that enjoys demonstrating its own power and often uses the Flying Press move against opponents in battles. Although Game Freak has yet to reveal Mega Hawlucha’s role in the story of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, it seems likely that a specific Trainer will be able to utilize this powerful Pokemon.
To mark the first appearance of Mega Hawlucha in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, The Pokemon Company plans to organize a Mexican wrestling event together with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) on September 25, right here in Mexico City, Mexico.
Korrina Being Mega Hawlucha’s Trainer in Pokemon Legends: Z-A Would Make a Lot of Sense

In the game “Pokemon X and Y,” Hawlucha is one of the four Pokemon that Gym Leader Korrina keeps in her team. Korrina oversees Shalour Gym, with a focus on training Fighting-Type Pokemon. Players first come across her early on, during their journey to Route 5. Their initial interaction with her is rather peaceful, but after visiting Shalour City, players must challenge Korrina to two consecutive battles. To obtain the Rumble Badge, they need to defeat her at her Gym. Additionally, to get the Mega Ring, an item that triggers Mega Evolution of their Pokemon, they must triumph over her at the peak of the Tower of Mastery.
If She’s Added to the Game, Korrina Would Be One of Several Returning Characters in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

In Pokemon X and Y, Korrina is the trainer who first demonstrates Mega Evolution to players. Given that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is one of the rare sequels in the main Pokemon series and will include some returning characters from Pokemon X and Y, it’s reasonable to anticipate that Korrina might reappear in some form in this game. Characters like the enigmatic AZ, the shady detective Emma, and Mable, a former member of Team Flare, are also confirmed to appear in this game, along with several new characters.
In the hypothetical scenario where Korrina appears in “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, she might have moved on from her role as a Gym Leader, given that other familiar characters have adopted new roles since their appearances in “Pokemon X and Y”. It’s plausible that this could also apply to Korrina.
Should Game Freak choose to modify her character in some way, it would be delightful if players were still given the opportunity to engage in a battle with Korrina, potentially facing off against Mega Hawlucha along the way.
