The highly anticipated Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A arrives on December 10th, and a new trailer will be released in just over a week. While many players have already completed the main story and side quests, including unlocking Xerneas, Yveltal, and finishing the Infinite Z-A Royale, there’s still more to explore. The game’s ranked battles offer a great way to challenge yourself against other trainers and earn exclusive, rare rewards.

  • Since Pokemon Legends: Z-A has real-time battles instead of turn-based combat, Pikachu can spam its attacks in a row to decimate slower opponents.
  • Pikachu has access to Charge, which boosts its Sp. Defense as well as the damage dealt by its next Electric move, meaning it can deal an incredible amount of damage with attacks like Volt Tackle and Thunderbolt.
  • Pikachu can learn Dig and Play Rough, which are great for moving toward the target, as well as Brick Break, which is the only move in the game that can break Reflect and Light Screen.

Because only Ground-type Pokemon are immune to Electric attacks, and Garchomp is the most common Ground-type in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Pikachu can effectively use the powerful Play Rough move against the popular Dragon-types. While it’s best to switch to a different Pokemon when facing Ground-types, Pikachu can potentially defeat almost any other Pokemon in one hit with the right preparation. Many players are finding that Pikachu can even earn five or more knockouts per match.
