A dedicated fan of Pokemon Pokopia recently constructed an underwater bridge, featuring glass windows for viewing the marine life. Since launching on March 5th, Pokemon Pokopia has quickly become a fan-favorite spin-off game in the Pokemon series. A key part of its appeal is the ability to build and customize worlds; players can create everything from cozy homes to stunning replicas of real-world locations, and often share their building techniques with other fans.
Since its release, players of Pokemon Pokopia have been building amazing creations, going far beyond the simple starter homes the game provides. They’re using the game’s unique abilities – like swimming, flying, and even melting – to explore and build in surprising locations. Some players are even finding clever ways to get around the map without relying on Pokemon moves; one resourceful gamer, for example, built an entire underwater tunnel.
Pokemon Pokopia Player Shares Underwater Bridge Build
A player on the Pokemon Pokopia subreddit, DereKoopa, recently shared a video of their impressive underwater bridge in Bleak Beach. The video shows a submerged passage with metal floors, walls, and ceiling, decorated with shell lights and benches. Large glass windows provide stunning views of the underwater plants, allowing the player to walk between shores without needing to swim. Automatic sliding doors at each end of the passage add a nice touch to the build.
A player named DereKoopa has received over 17,000 upvotes for a creative design in Pokemon Pokopia. They built an underwater corridor, but it wasn’t easy! They admitted to drowning repeatedly while placing the first blocks, as water mechanics in the game, especially around Bleak Beach, can be challenging. Luckily, the game respawns players on solid ground if they drown. Another player noted the build is more of a tunnel than a bridge, and DereKoopa agreed. This impressive creation has already inspired others to build similar structures, and it will be exciting to see what players come up with next.
Many players enjoy building underground structures, even though they can take a lot of time and effort. For example, one Pokemon Pokopia player created a complete subway system in Rocky Ridges, allowing quick access to the hidden museum. Similar to Rocky Ridges, Bleak Beach is an early area unlocked after Withered Wasteland and features unique Pokemon like Lapras and Raikou. Bleak Beach also serves as the starting location for a major Pokemon Pokopia quest involving Mosslax and Peakychu.
Just under a month after its release, Pokemon Pokopia quickly became one of the best-received games in the entire Pokemon series, even outperforming the main series titles. It sold over 2.2 million copies in just four days and caused Nintendo’s stock price to jump 15%. The game recently finished its first special, limited-time event, where players could catch and evolve Hoppip. The Pokemon Company has promised ongoing updates and improvements, so fans shouldn’t have to wait long for the next in-game event.
