Pokémon Pokopia Trailer Reveals New Pikachu & Snorlax Variants

Nintendo has shared a lot of information about the new Pokémon Pokopia game, but the most exciting part is the introduction of unique and mysterious versions of familiar Pokémon.

Pokémon Pokopia is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 4, 2026. Players will take on the role of a Ditto-like character and work to revive a desolate landscape, bringing Pokémon back to the area. The game will also have a unique way to be played on the original Nintendo Switch.

Okay, so the new trailer showed gameplay that feels a lot like Animal Crossing, which I’m totally into! But the really exciting part was at the end – they revealed some new forms of Pikachu and Snorlax! It’s got everyone wondering what those are all about and how they’ll work in the game. I need to know more!

Meet Peakychu & Mosslax in Pokémon Pokopia

The latest Pokémon Pokopia trailer, released on November 13th, showed a strange, gray Pikachu that looked almost like a ghost. The trailer then focused on a Snorlax completely covered in moss.

The trailer didn’t reveal much, but the official Pokémon website offered a few more details about the new Pokémon, which are named Peakychu and Mosslax.

You’ll be able to find the pair, Professor Tangrowth (who appeared a lot in the trailer), and Smearguru (a special type of Smeargle) in Pokémon Pokopia. However, it’s currently unknown how you’ll encounter them, or if they’re different versions of their usual forms.

We’ll learn more next year on Pokémon Day, right before the new game, Pokémon Pokopia, comes out. This event will also kick off the 30th anniversary celebrations for the Pokémon franchise, so we’ll need to wait until then for more details.
