Pokemon Pokopia’s April Fools’ Freebie is Available For Only 24 Hours

To celebrate April Fools’ Day, Pokemon Pokopia is giving players a free item, but it’s only available for 24 hours! Pokemon Pokopia is a relaxing game where you can collect items and materials to decorate your island and build wonderful homes for your Pokemon.

Launched just last month, Pokemon Pokopia is quickly becoming a hit on the Switch 2, with over 2.2 million copies sold globally in only four days. Players take on the role of a Ditto that can change into a human trainer, tasked with restoring life to several islands and bringing back the Pokemon who live there. The game is full of nods to previous Pokemon titles and features fun items inspired by beloved characters, such as the new Inflatable Sudowoodo.

Pokemon Pokopia’s Inflatable Sudowoodo is Only Available For 24 Hours

On April 1st, Pokemon Pokopia started an April Fools’ Day event called the Copycat Challenge. In this event, the Pokémon Ditto tries to figure out which Pokémon others are pretending to be. If players correctly guess three times, they’ll receive an inflatable Sudowoodo – it’s like one of those waving air dancers you see at car dealerships! But hurry, this free item is only available until April 2nd at 5 AM.

How to Get Inflatable Sudowoodo in Pokemon Pokopia

  1. Once the game is booted up, players should head towards a Pokémon Center PC to start the Copycat Challenge. This works for any Pokemon Center regardless of location.
  2. Wander around the island and interact with Pokemon with three-dot speech bubbles. Players need to talk to three Pokemon.
  3. The Pokemon will ask Ditto to guess who they’re impersonating. If they get three questions correct, they can claim the prize.
  4. Go back to the Pokemon Center PC and click complete on the “Correctly answer today’s special quizzes!” notification to claim the Inflatable Sudowoodo.
  5. To place the Inflatable Sudowoodo on the island, open Ditto’s inventory and select the item.

Lots of dedicated Pokemon Pokopia players have already gotten their free inflatable Sudowoodo and are even sharing pictures of it alongside the real Pokemon! Players can also create multiple copies of the inflatable version by photographing it and using the 3D Printer at any Pokemon Center or on Treasure Island. If you’re running out of time to complete the April Fools’ event before 5 AM on April 2nd, you can temporarily change the date on your Switch 2 to get another chance.

Pokemon Pokopia Future Updates

Even though Pokemon Pokopia is brand new, the developers plan to add lots more content and events over time. A recent update, version 1.0.2, fixed several bugs to improve the gaming experience. Players can participate in temporary events, like the April Fools’ and Hoppip events, to earn unique rewards for their islands. These additions will keep Pokopia fun and engaging even after you finish the main storyline.

Rumors suggest that the downloadable content for Pokemon Pokopia might take players to the Sevii Islands. These islands, first seen in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, are home to several rare and powerful Pokemon like Moltres, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Deoxys. While Pokopia players can already become friends with Moltres, Lugia, and Ho-Oh, Deoxys is still nowhere to be found. If the Sevii Islands are added in a future update, players might finally get the chance to befriend Deoxys and meet new characters. However, developers Koei Tecmo and Game Freak haven’t officially announced any DLC or its release date, so fans will need to be patient.
