Pokemon Prisme Features 4 Classic Regions with More on the Way

The latest English version of Pokemon Prisme boasts four large regions to discover, and two more are planned. This amount of content makes it one of the most substantial Pokemon fan games available.

It’s easy to mix up Pokemon Prisme and Pokemon Prism, but they are different games. Pokemon Prism, created by one person named Koolboyman, began as a modification of the Pokemon Crystal game. Nintendo stopped its development in 2016 with a legal notice, but a version of the game appeared online anyway. Pokemon Prisme, spelled with an ‘e’, is a larger fan project developed by a group called Team Nebula. It first came out on computers in French on March 24, 2012.

Pokemon Prisme Now Available in English

After more than 13 years, the fan-made game Pokemon Prisme is now available in English! You can download it for free starting January 20th. The game lets you explore four different regions – Kanto, Johto, Sevii, and the Orange Archipelago – and blends together content from the classic Pokemon games, manga, and anime series.

The team behind Team Nebula has announced that the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions are currently being developed and added to the game. They haven’t said when these regions will be available, but like the rest of the game, they will be free to play. While the project is non-profit, it still faces potential copyright issues. So far, however, Prisme has managed to avoid the same fate as Pokemon Prism, a similar fan project that Nintendo shut down in 2016 after eight years of work, by sending a legal notice.

Pokemon Prisme’s 4 Regions Feature Standalone Storylines with Some Fresh Ideas

The world of Pokemon Prisme is divided into four distinct regions, each feeling substantial enough to stand alone as its own game. The story in the Kanto region revisits the classic lore of Lavender Town, focusing on a rising supernatural problem centered around the Pokemon Tower. Players will investigate strange, unsettling melodies rumored to cause insanity, and increasingly aggressive ghosts that are no longer hidden by the Silph Scope. The main plot revolves around discovering why the Pokemon Tower has become a hub for this unrest and how it might threaten the entire Pokemon League.

The Sevii Islands offer a vibrant, tropical setting for a thrilling adventure to stop an alien threat. This story centers around the Pokemon Deoxys, which was first seen by sailors near Birth Island. The quest in Sevii is a race against time to prevent a widespread biological disaster. Meanwhile, in Johto, the story focuses on Team Rocket, revealing a stronger, more ambitious organization with new leaders.

Unlike the main series games where you collect gym badges, the story in the Orange Islands focuses on tests of bravery and ability. The whole region feels like a journey of growth, but with a relaxed, tropical atmosphere. Hidden beneath the surface is a mystery about a legendary Pokémon trainer whose legacy still impacts the islands, leading players to discover unique Pokémon and old, powerful battle moves.

Team Nebula has announced that upcoming updates to Pokemon Prisme will work with your current game progress. The game currently offers over 175 quests and includes more than 380 different Pokemon, plus the ability to trade online. Pokemon Prisme is now available on PC and Steam Deck, and Team Nebula is planning to release an Android version around early 2026.
