Pokemon Red Rescue Team: Best Starter Pokemon

Pokemon Red Rescue Team: Best Starter Pokemon

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Pokemon Red Rescue Team is a gem that deserves a spot in every Pokemon enthusiast’s collection. The personality test at the beginning of the game adds an interesting twist to the traditional starter selection process, allowing for a more personalized gaming experience.

The adventure in Pokemon Red Rescue Team commences with a questionnaire designed to gauge your character traits, ultimately deciding which Pokemon you’ll embark on your journey with. A pool of fifty questions are selected to quiz you, and the outcome of this test helps determine your personality.

If you’re not satisfied with the outcome and prefer to try another Pokemon, feel free to exit the game and redo the test as many times as necessary for your desired character. Once you’ve secured your chosen Pokemon, a selection of suitable partners will be presented to you; here are some excellent choices to consider.

Best Starter Pokemon In Red Rescue Team

As a seasoned Pokémon Trainer with years of battling and capturing creatures under my belt, I can attest to the importance of choosing the right partner for your journey. The decision you make at the beginning of your adventure is crucial, as you’ll be sticking with this companion throughout every mission until you conquer the game. While you may recruit other Pokémon along the way to aid your rescue team, it’s you and your partner who will lead the charge.

Pokemon Reasoning
Pikachu Most bosses in the game are part flying type including the final boss, making Pikachu’s Electric moves very useful against all the hardest fights in the game. Early on he also learns Quick Attack, which can attack around corners and from behind you when in a hallway. Pikachu is by far the best starter and should be in every party for an easier playthrough.
Charmander Overall Charmander does high damage with his fire attacks, especially against one of the more difficult bosses that is weak to fire found halfway through the game. Charmander also learns Smokescreen, which is great against bosses to protect your party while focusing on dealing damage.
Cyndaquil Much like Charmander, fire-type Pokemon are good options in this game. Cyndaquil’s moveset is only slightly different than Charmander’s, with a lot of the same early-game options. Towards the middle of the game, Cyndaquil will learn better fire moves earlier, along with an early Quick Attack to give more damage-focused options early on.
Squirtle Squirtle comes with consistently better water attacks throughout the game, along with Bite to add some move variety on top of some basic normal attacks. Squirtle also learns Protect and overall has a good defensive stat, making it a great option for those worried about surviving in a dungeon.

Since there are numerous encounters with various types during the game, choosing a Grass-type Pokémon could result in a more challenging experience.

Here are several options that can be chosen by either the player or their partner, allowing you to create any party you desire. You have a total of sixteen options at your disposal, feel free to select another one if you prefer. Keep in mind that while Red Rescue Team doesn’t necessarily need a perfect team to win, choosing the options mentioned will significantly ease the gameplay.
