Pokemon Red Rescue Team: How To Recruit Pokemon

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the Pokemon Red Rescue Team has truly taken me back to my roots. The classic approach of selecting a partner at the beginning and then building a team through strategic progression and exploration is something I’ve missed dearly in recent games.

In the game called “Pokemon Red Rescue,” you begin with a test to establish your Pokemon, after which you choose one from a group as your companion. This chosen pair becomes inseparable, leading and assisting in every mission and dungeon for the remainder of the main storyline.

Players have the option to expand their rescue team by adding more Pokemon, but this isn’t always an easy task. In most dungeons, players can opt to include two extra companions, bringing their total number of party members up to four.

How To Recruit Pokemon In Red Rescue Team

1. In order to enlist Pokemon for your rescue squad, you should advance through the primary narrative until you reach Mt. Steel. This is the third challenge in the game, making it your fourth expedition. Notably, Mt. Steel serves as the residence of the game’s initial boss and may prove challenging if you attempt to head straight there without proper preparation.

Once you conquer Mount Steel, Magnemite becomes eager to join your squad, leading to a visit to Wigglytuff the following day. Wigglytuff can be found in Pokemon Square and is the shop farthest to the right before reaching the Pelipper building. After chatting with Wigglytuff, you’ll acquire Friend Areas, enabling you to enlist Pokémon in dungeons. When battling enemies in dungeons, there’s a possibility that they might survive and request to join your rescue team if their Friend Area has been unlocked by you.

  • Only Pokemon defeated by your leader may ask to join but it doesn’t happen every time.
  • You’ll need to have purchased that Pokemon’s Friend Area.
  • The defeated Pokemon must be standing one tile away from the leader.
  • There must be a slot available in your party, only four party members can be had at a time, or fewer if large Pokemon are with you.
  • The newly recruited Pokemon must survive the dungeon to be fully recruited and useable later on.

Legendary Pokemon can be recruited but only after beating the base game.

Picking The Right Friend Zone

Friend Zones can be located by taking the path to the left of your home, where Wigglytuff offers more Friend Zones for sale as the game advances. The second option on Wigglytuff’s menu is labeled “Check”. This comprehensive list shows all the Pokemon you’ve encountered and will indicate which Friend Zone you need to buy to enlist that specific Pokemon. You can only verify Pokemon you have already met, encouraging further exploration of dungeons you have previously completed in order to recruit particular Pokemon.

Each Friend Zone has a limited number of spaces, which can be seen when traveling between Friend Zones. You can choose to dismiss specific Pokemon from a Friend Zone in order to make more room for better Pokemon you want to recruit.
