As a seasoned Pokemon trainer with years of battling under my belt, the news of Shiny Rayquaza gracing our screens in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has me jumping for joy! The anticipation is palpable as I eagerly await its arrival on December 20, 2024.
According to the latest news, the Pokemon Company is planning to introduce a Tera Raid Battle with a Shiny Rayquaza in both Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet games.
The developer/publisher announces: “In harmony with the arrival of this Legendary Pokemon, a simultaneous mass outbreak event for Shiny colored Pokemons will take place. Before Shiny Rayquaza’s appearance, there will also be a three-part Tera Raid Battle event series showcasing Pokemons that can aid Trainers in preparing to battle this Legendary Pokemon. Furthermore, to commemorate the adventures Trainers have embarked on since the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, an official infographic has been shared, providing intriguing details about how Trainers have explored Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy.
You can see the Shiny Rayquaza in action in the new video, below:
From December 20, 2024, at midnight UTC until January 5, 2025, at 11:59 PM UTC, trainers will have a unique opportunity to encounter a Shiny Rayquaza with Dragon as its Tera Type in 5-star Tera Raid Battles. Normally, this Shiny Rayquaza is not found during regular gameplay.
In this particular event, each player gets a single chance to capture the Shiny Rayquaza per their save file. As the event continues, trainers can engage in Tera Raid Battles with this Rayquaza to collect various in-game prizes if they’ve already caught it. There’s a possibility that Shiny Rayquaza could appear again in future events or become accessible through alternative means.
Between December 20, 2024, at midnight UTC, and January 5, 2025, at eleven fifty-nine PM UTC, specific locations will see an increase of Shiny versions of Fraxure, Carbink, and Cetoddle. These Pokémon have a black coloration when they’re Shiny. During this period, you can find Cetoddle in the Paldea region, Carbink in Kitakami, and Fraxure at Blueberry Academy’s Terarium. Pokémon encountered during these special mass outbreaks are more likely to be Shiny.
