Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a final event to look forward to in 2025! The powerful Pokemon Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be available as five-star Tera Raid bosses again, marking their return after a 10-month break. Trainers will have a little over two weeks to challenge and battle them, though some restrictions still apply.
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are incredibly rare Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and players have only had limited chances to catch them. They were most recently available in February 2025, right before Pokémon Day. Walking Wake is a Water/Dragon type based on Suicune, appearing as an ancient creature, and Iron Leaves is a Grass/Psychic type robot inspired by Virizion. As with other Paradox Pokémon, Walking Wake is found only in Pokémon Scarlet, and Iron Leaves is exclusive to Pokémon Violet. This means that trainers who want to catch both Pokémon will need to trade with each other.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Details (December 2025)
Okay, so the Dragapult event is over, but good news for us Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players! We’re getting one last chance to battle and catch something special before the year ends. Serebii.net is reporting that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are coming back for another five-star Tera Raid event. It starts on December 18th at 7 PM Eastern time and runs all the way until January 4th, 2026, at 6:59 PM Eastern. That gives us over two weeks to try and catch Walking Wake in Scarlet and Iron Leaves in Violet. Just a heads-up, Walking Wake will be a Water-type Tera Raid boss, and Iron Leaves will be Psychic-type. If you want to be prepared, I’m planning on bringing a team of level 100 Pokemon with a type advantage – that should give us a good shot at winning both battles since they’ll both be level 75.
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Should Offer Tempting Rewards
You can battle the Paradox Pokemon bosses as many times as you like, but if you already caught Walking Wake or Iron Leaves, you won’t be able to catch another one. This isn’t the first time these Pokemon have been available, but it’s the first time since the recent update to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that you can find Walking Wake and Iron Leaves in Tera Raid Dens. Because the game now runs much better after the update, this is a great chance for players who haven’t tried Tera Raid battles to challenge these rare Paradox Pokemon.
Last February during the event with Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, players could earn valuable rewards by defeating or catching those Pokémon. These included Herba Mystica, used for making top-tier sandwiches, as well as EXP Candies and Bottle Caps to help train and strengthen their Pokémon.
This Could Be The Last Chance To Face These Paradox Pokemon
Paradox Tera Raid Events happen regularly in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but the special Pokemon Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are different. It’s been 10 months since they were last available, so this upcoming Five-Star Tera Raid event might be the final opportunity for trainers to catch them.
There’s a lot of talk online about the next generation of Pokémon games, and this could mean that events for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet won’t last much longer. If you’re trying to complete your Pokédex for the Paldea region, you might not have long to get Walking Wake and Iron Leaves.
