Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Late November Seven-Star Tera Raid

Trainers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will soon face a new challenge: a powerful seven-star Tera Raid featuring Goodra! This special Goodra will be available to battle in Tera Raid dens for a limited time in late November. Be prepared, though – this Dragon-type Pokemon will put your skills to the test!

Goodra first appeared in the Pokemon X and Y games as the region’s most powerful Dragon-type Pokemon. It usually evolves from Sliggoo when leveled up during rainy weather. In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, both Sliggoo and Goodra gained special forms unique to the Hisui region, adding the Steel-type to their abilities. Goodra is a versatile attacker with incredibly high special defense, and can learn moves like Dragon Pulse, Surf, Poison Tail, and Earthquake. Its abilities, such as Sap Sipper and Gooey, can also force opponents to change their strategies.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Goodra Tera Raid Details (Late November 2025)

Just after the Hydreigon Tera Raids ended, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will get a new challenge: Goodra the Unrivaled! According to Serebii.net, this powerful Pokemon will appear in seven-star Tera Raid dens from November 20th at 7:00 PM Eastern time until November 23rd at 6:59 PM Eastern time. Don’t worry if you miss it the first time – there will be another chance from November 27th to 30th. Goodra will be a Water-type Tera Pokemon, and defeating it will earn you the Mightiest Mark. While Goodra has very high special defense, its physical defense is lower. It also has moves and abilities to help it against its usual weaknesses to Grass and Electric attacks.

As a Goodra fan, I’ve learned it can be a bit tricky to battle against! It has three possible abilities, and they each change things up. Hydration is cool if it’s raining, letting it heal, and its hidden ability, Gooey, can slow down anyone who tries to physically attack it. But most of the time, you’ll see Goodra with Sap Sipper, which means Grass-type moves don’t even hurt it – instead, they actually boost its attack! That’s why, if you’re battling in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it’s a really smart idea to use moves like Gastro Acid or Skill Swap to get rid of its ability first. It levels the playing field a lot!

After Goodra’s powerful abilities are taken away, strong Pokémon like Iron Hands and Serperior can inflict a lot of damage on this challenging Tera Raid boss. It will be interesting to see what tactics players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet come up with to defeat Goodra the Unrivaled.
