Back in 2019, they released the Pokémon Pass app. It was a great system where you could get event codes just by going to events and either sharing your location or scanning a QR code. I remember using it to get special Pokémon like Mewtwo in *Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee*, shiny Solgaleo and Lunala in *Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun*, and *Ultra Moon*, and even shiny Toxtricity in *Sword and Shield*. It was a much easier way to participate in events, and I wish they’d bring it back!

The Pokemon Pass app was removed from app stores in 2023 and is no longer used for Pokemon giveaways. However, a similar app could be helpful to replace physical giveaway codes, which are often resold at inflated prices.
