In some regions, there’s a small delay reported for the release of the upcoming major set from The Pokémon Company, named Mega Evolutions.
The much-anticipated introduction of Mega Evolutions in TCG (Trading Card Game) for Western regions was scheduled for September 26th. However, trainers residing in Europe, Middle East, and Africa may need to exercise a little more patience.
Worldwide trainers will face a setback as they’ll have to wait until October for the implementation of Mega Evolutions, which won’t impact the US release timing.
Pokémon Mega Evolutions Delayed to October 10
On their social media platform, The Pokémon Company shared an update stating that some issues affecting product distribution are causing a minor delay in the release of the Mega Evolutions expansion in European, Middle Eastern, and African markets.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that while we don’t have a definitive launch date just yet, rest assured that our team is tirelessly collaborating with our logistics partners to make sure the goods will be up for grabs starting from October 10, 2025. So, mark your calendars and stay tuned for more updates!
At the moment, it’s uncertain how the delay impacts pre-release activities in the area, and whether these activities will also be postponed. This adds to the disappointment of fans.
Due to an overwhelming demand for Pokémon Trading Card Game items, it’s becoming progressively challenging to obtain them. This surge in demand led to the premature conclusion of a promotional event at Japanese McDonald’s, as massive crowds resulted in long queues and unnecessary food waste.
A delay in Mega Evolutions could potentially lead to increased prices on the secondary market at launch, due to some people importing them from the U.S., thereby adding more complications to an already complex situation.
