An exceptionally fortunate player of the Pokemon Trading Card Game (PTCG) has recently extracted an extremely scarce Victini foil card with a texture misalignment issue, which could potentially fetch a significant sum of money. Occasionally, seasoned Pokemon TCG players strike it rich by drawing cards from booster packs, but this individual essentially struck the lottery.
First introduced in Japan in 1996, followed by its release in the U.S. in 1998, the “Pokemon Trading Card Game” (TCG) has become one of the most enduringly popular card games ever produced. To date, it has released over a hundred different sets of cards, with billions of these cards distributed globally. Such was its success that it spurred the creation and download of “Pokemon TCG Pocket,” which achieved over 10 million downloads within just 48 hours.
Pokemon TCG Players Pulls Victini Card With Texture Shift Error
A Pokémon Trading Card Game enthusiast identified as Key-Sprinkles8023 recently revealed an unusual discovery – a Victini (172/086) card from the Black Bolt and White Flare set that features a texture shift error. In three images posted by the player, it’s evident that the foil on the Victini card has been incorrectly positioned, creating an intriguing illusion of having two Victinis on the card when viewed from certain angles.
The gaming community suggested grading and potentially selling this unique card due to its rarity. Normally, a Victini (172/086) card fetches approximately $500 online. With this error, its value could significantly increase.
It’s worth noting that Key-Sprinkles8023 isn’t the only one who’s had some luck with Pokémon TCG cards. Just this week, another player managed to pull a Lillie’s Clefairy ex card – not as rare as the erroneous Victini, but still quite valuable. On eBay, this card can fetch over $100 and its highest recorded sale was a whopping $700.

Previously this year, a different Pokemon TCG player managed to draw two Victini cards from the Black Bolt and White Flare set – an incredibly fortunate occurrence. Although these cards didn’t contain any mistakes, they held significant value and could have earned this player a substantial sum of money.
Some enthusiastic players opt to acquire uncommon cards at significantly discounted rates, rather than drawing them from packs. For instance, a player just bought a Giratina VSTAR card for $35 from a local game store, a price that’s significantly lower than the average of $150-$200 online. This transaction resulted in a substantial profit for the player. Here’s hoping more fortunate players keep sharing their captivating tales with the community.
