As a gamer with over two decades of Pokemon TCG experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the best Moltres deck build in Pokemon TCG Pocket is a game-changer. I’ve seen my fair share of Fire Type decks, and few can compare to this beauty.
In the thrilling world of Pokémon TCG Pocket, as an avid fan, I get to virtually unwrap digital booster packs with a swift swipe of my finger and grow my collection of digital cards, which keeps expanding with each fresh set that hits the market. The best part? Definitely the excitement of spotlighting ace cards featuring my favorite or most potent Pokémon, followed by constructing a deck around them to engage in battles against AI opponents or fellow trainers!
In contrast to the full-fledged Pokemon Trading Card Game, the digital version called TCG Pocket simplifies its rules and gameplay, allowing you to construct decks with only 20 cards per deck. This can sometimes make selecting the right cards a bit challenging. At Genetic Apex, Moltres is an outstanding Fire Type card to center your deck around due to its strong ability and effective Trainer/Item cards that can significantly impact matchups. The guide below provides all the essential information about crafting the best Moltres deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket, including a comprehensive list of cards for you to choose from.
Best Moltres Deck Build in Pokemon TCG Pocket
In the game Pokemon TCG Pocket, there aren’t many Fire Type decks that rival Charizard ex, but Moltres stands out as its most formidable competitor and an excellent choice for beginners while you accumulate cards to construct your own Charizard deck. What makes Moltres a threat isn’t necessarily high HP or tremendous damage potential, but rather its unique ability to attach additional Fire Energy to your benched Pokémon each turn, which can give you an edge from the get-go. With each turn, players have a chance to attach between 0 and 3 Energies to their benched Pokémon thanks to Moltres’ Inferno Dance ability, as it only needs one Fire Energy attached to Moltres for this effect to take place.
The best choice of secondary Pokemon to run alongside the ace Pokemon, Moltres, tends to be Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Centiskorch has a solid 130 HP and a powerful 130 damage per-turn move with Fire Blast, which requires four Energies to be attached in order to use. Luckily, Moltres’ Inferno Dance ability has the chance to get Centiskorch into play early with the addition of extra Fire Energies. On top of this, Centiskorch, while it doesn’t have the same HP to keep it alive or as high of damage output as Charizard ex, Centiskorch can get into play much quicker not only from Moltres but also from only being a 2-stage evolution setup rather than a 3-stage.
The rest of the deck is primarily composed of conventional Trainer, item, and Supporter cards. Among these are X Speed, which facilitates the transition from Moltres to Centiskorch upon powering up on the bench, Potion for maintaining Pokemon in play when necessary, Giovanni to deliver a single-turn knockout against various opponents (including EX) by boosting Centiskorch’s damage from 130 to 140, Sabrina to interfere with your opponent’s strategy, and Poke Ball and Professor’s Research for assisting in drawing the right cards into your hand and onto the field.
