Pokemon TCG Pocket Cards Are Being Listed on eBay

Listings for pocket-sized Pokémon Trading Card Game cards have been found on eBay, where enthusiasts are asking for approximately $10 for certain cards.

According to The Gamer’s report, various Pokemon TCG Pocket cards such as Blastoise Ex, Mewtwo Ex, Gengar Ex, and others are being sold on eBay, with prices ranging between $4 and $10 per card. Members of the r/PTCGP subreddit have noticed this trend, with one user sharing a screenshot of someone attempting to sell a Tauros for $5. The community is urging action against such sellers, but the game lacks a reporting feature. Some users are curious about how one could verify whether a card was actually sold for real money outside the app, even if a report function were available.

Despite Pokemon TCG Pocket’s efforts to discourage real-money trading among players, listings for these cards have still surfaced on eBay. The game’s developers have made it clear that engaging in real-money trades is against the rules and can lead to a ban. Furthermore, they’ve implemented restrictions aimed at curbing this behavior, but some players seem to have discovered loopholes around them.

As a Pokémon TCG Pocket gamer, I’ve noticed an interesting rule in the trading feature – we can only swap cards of the same rarity. This implies that eBay traders will acquire a new EX card each time they trade an EX card, allowing them to continue this exchange until the game developers eventually notice them.
