Pokemon TCG Pocket Confirms New Set for February 25

The next set of cards for Pokemon TCG Pocket in 2026 is called Paldean Wonders, and it features the starter Pokemon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. The previous set, Fantastical Parade, released on January 28th and included over 230 new cards, plus a new type of card called Stadium. Paldean Wonders will be a smaller set, similar to other mini-sets released for Pokemon TCG Pocket.

On February 18th, DeNA released a brief video hinting at the new set, featuring its mascots dancing. This sparked speculation among fans that ‘Paldean Wonders’ (or B2a) might be the first smaller expansion to include three different types of booster packs. This idea came about because the previous major set, B2, was the first to only include one type of pack. Some players thought DeNA was testing out new ways to structure sets, but the official trailer for ‘Paldean Wonders’ has now confirmed that’s not the case.

Fans Hope B2a Brings a Hydreigon Counter

Hydreigon has been a top-performing card in the Pokemon TCG Pocket for the last three sets, often paired with Mega Absol EX to create a very strong strategy. Data from Limitless shows this combination still wins over half the time (53%) and makes up almost 17% of decks played in big tournaments. Many players believe the developers, DeNA, will soon release cards designed to beat Hydreigon and create a more even playing field.

Many players believe the new Meowscarada EX could be a strong answer to the popular Hydreigon. It allows you to attack any space on your opponent’s board – even empty ones – dealing 70 damage after they finish their turn. This, combined with Hydreigon’s tendency to damage itself, could create powerful combinations that finally limit Hydreigon’s dominance in the game.

Fans are excited about a new Supporter card in Pokemon TCG Pocket called Nemona. When used with Pawmot, it can significantly boost damage against opposing EX Pokemon, potentially reaching a powerful 150 damage in one attack. While achieving this requires a specific setup, the increasing number of cards that help players find the cards they need makes a Pawmot and Nemona combination feel achievable.

The new B2a set is generating buzz, but it’s important to remember that Pokemon TCG Pocket is having trouble keeping players engaged. Recent reports from DeNA show the game is still attracting new players, but many aren’t sticking around for long. The company acknowledged this problem back in August 2025 and pledged to make major improvements to the game’s core features.

Even though Pokemon TCG Pocket has been updated a lot, fans are still waiting for features like a shared point system for packs and a dark mode option. It’s unclear if the developers, DeNA, will use the new Paldean Wonders expansion to add these popular features, or if it will just be a typical release without any major improvements to how the game is played.
