The most recent Special Mission event occurred in March 2025, coinciding with the debut of TCG Pocket’s Triumphant Light collection. This event didn’t create much excitement among the gaming community because many players thought the prizes were lackluster. At that time, the developers were emphasizing the game’s Trading aspects, resulting in rewards primarily consisting of Trade Tokens and Trade Hourglasses. However, the upcoming Special Event 2025 is expected to offer much more appealing rewards.
In conjunction with the debut of the Celestial Guardians expansion for Pokemon TCG Pocket in 2025, a Special Event has been announced that grants players 120 free Pack Hourglasses. These booster pack resources can be obtained by accomplishing time-limited tasks related to regular in-game activities such as battles and opening packs. The festivities also encompass a concurrent Drop Event offering enhanced rates for initial rewards featuring Rayquaza EX. To join, players must overcome the game’s AI on four difficulty levels, each level awarding an extra 15 Pack Hourglasses (totaling 60), in addition to the 120 earned from Special Missions. By completing all tasks and winning battles, players can open 15 booster packs for free, making it a great beginning for the new set. Moreover, Pack Hourglasses are not the only attractive prizes during this event.

For approximately a month, the grand celebration known as The Special Event will culminate on May 29th, potentially overlapping with the unveiling of a fresh mini-set release. In honor of this festivity, participants have the opportunity to gather the latest Promo-A packs from TCG Pocket‘s Rayquaza ex Drop Event. To acquire these prized packs, one must triumph over the AI in Expert mode on numerous occasions, thus securing Promo-A Vol. 7 packs as rewards. These promotional packs feature exciting cards such as Exeggcute P-A 060, Froakie P-A 061, Farfetch’d P-A 062, Rayquaza P-A 063, and Rayquaza ex P-A 064. An alternative version of the Rayquaza ex card, P-A 065, can be unlocked by emerging victorious in a staggering 50 battles throughout this event.
After a fortnight immersed in the ongoing TCG Pocket special activity, I’m eagerly awaiting the start of the upcoming event, the Alolan Ninetales Drop. This upcoming adventure promises to unveil fresh card versions from Promo-A Pack Vol. 8. Unlike our current event, it seems the standard Pack Hourglass reward will be a more modest 20, instead of the current generous 60.
