Summary
- Some Pokemon TCG Pocket players are calling for DeNA to change the way community showcases work.
- Rather than displaying user-selected backgrounds and cards individually, some players would rather see them rendered together, much like they are on the owner’s end.
- Pokemon TCG Pocket is still too new to be able to tell how receptive its developer will be to unsolicited player feedback of this sort.
Some enthusiasts of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket edition have been vocal on social platforms lately, advocating for changes in how the community presents its showcases. They argue that the current approach to showcasing in Pokemon TCG Pocket is rather bland and lacks creativity.
Since the early testing phases (beta), this popular game has included the option to display cards and collections. Although community exhibits function as a backup source for Pokemon TCG Pocket Shop Tickets, many users engage with these displays primarily for pleasure, appreciating the diversity of others’ collections.
A segment of this group has recently united to advocate for modifications in the manner that local exhibitions are structured. This idea was first put forth by Reddit user AtomicBlue, who posted a preliminary design of a revamped exhibition screen. In this concept, players’ unique assemblies of Pokemon TCG Pocket cards and backdrops would be visually combined, mirroring how the creators themselves perceive them. As of now, the game only shows an assortment of images, with the chosen card for a player displayed next to the background image selected.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Label Community Showcase UI as ‘Wasted Space’
As a passionate enthusiast, I’ve been reflecting on the current format of community showcases, and I can’t help but feel that there’s an overwhelming amount of unused space. This was my take, and it resonated strongly with fellow Pokemon TCG Pocket players, as evidenced by the influx of upvotes it received shortly after being posted in early January 2025 on r/PTCGP subreddit. The buzz it created on social media indicates that a significant segment of our community shares this view and hopes to see DeNA reconsider the structure of these showcases.
The requests for changes in the popular mobile game, Pokemon TCG Pocket, are not a novel occurrence among fans. However, given that the game was launched just last October 2024, it’s premature to gauge how open its developers might be to such fan suggestions at this point. In the interim, the developer, DeNA, has announced plans to broaden Pokemon TCG Pocket by incorporating trading features, which are expected to debut before January 2025 concludes.
The game is anticipated to get additional cards soon as well. It’s been hinted that the next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion might be released on January 29th. According to leaks, this new release could potentially be larger than the Mythical Island expansion from mid-December 2024. The upcoming set is rumored to provide players with three themed booster pack options, much like the Genetic Apex set.
