- Pokemon TCG Pocket players criticize new Sparkling Sky backdrop
- Players suggest transparent card features to fully appreciate backdrop design.
- Wonder Pick event offers new backdrops and cosmetics, including Solgaleo-themed items.
Users of the Pokemon TCG Pocket app have recently brought to attention an issue concerning one of the newly introduced game backdrops. This mobile application mirrors the traditional Pokemon Trading Card Game, allowing players to collect virtual versions of popular cards, design their decks and personalize how these cards appear on screen.
In this game, Pokemon TCG Pocket players acquire items that are utilized during battles or for displaying cards and collections. Among these items, backdrops are particularly popular – they’re illustrations designed to create display boards and exhibit a player’s favorite card collection. New backdrops can be obtained through various methods, like attending events, subscribing to the premium pass, or purchasing a Poke Gold pack. However, there’s a design choice in the latest backdrop for Pokemon TCG Pocket that has left some players scratching their heads.
On the r/PokemonTCG Pocket subreddit, user PtakPajak highlighted an inconsistency with the new Sparkling Sky card backdrop. They found it peculiar that the developers placed an elaborate galaxy illustration smack in the middle of the accessory, only for it to vanish when a player slides in a card. To clarify their observation, they posted two pictures: one showing the complete backdrop with the full galaxy image, and another displaying what it looks like once a Dragonite card is inserted.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Offers Free Rewards in New Wonder Pick Event
In Part 1 of the latest Wonder Pick event, The Shimmering Skyscape serves as one of the rewards, accompanied by other accessories themed around Solgaleo. A player in the comments section proposed incorporating transparent border elements to enhance the visibility of the artwork. Another user suggested that the backdrop’s design might be intentional, since it aligns with Solgaleo being a Pokemon symbolizing the sun. They further hypothesized that when Part 2 launches and Lunala-themed items are introduced, we may see a nighttime backdrop. Some players have posted images showcasing cards set against this backdrop, such as the captivating Lillie card.
The initial phase of the Wonder Pick tournament runs from May 9th through May 19th. During this timeframe, participants can secure exclusive promo cards for Cosmog and Lycanroc in the Pokemon Trading Card Game, all stamped with Chansey. Similar to other Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick events, gameplay will feature bonus selections that don’t require stamina, allowing players to obtain promo cards or items like special tickets. These tickets can be traded at the event shop for non-Sparkling Sky themed cosmetics such as a coin, playmat, card sleeve, an additional backdrop, and a cover showcasing Solgaleo, Lillie’s icon, and up to 50 units of Shinedust.
