The Pokemon Trading Card Game has disclosed the probability of drawing Black Bolt and White Flare cards from the latest expansion pack. This is the fifth and final special expansion within the Pokemon TCG cycle for Scarlet and Violet, offering fans a trip down memory lane to Generation 5, where they revisit the monsters initially encountered in Unova.

In a joint release as a single expansion package, Black Bolt and White Flare made their debut in Japan on June 6th. Each card within this expansion showcases either a secret rare or superior art variant, cards set against the backdrop of Poke Ball or Master Ball, and an addition of 38 new cards featuring Pokemon ex. The Western versions, Black Bolt and Bolt, were released on July 18th, marking the first time an international special expansion has been localized from its Japanese counterpart. Excited collectors of the Pokemon Trading Card Game have recently received valuable insights regarding the new cards.

In the study carried out by TCG Player, the only cards that couldn’t be calculated pull rates for were the Black White Rare ones. These particular cards are extremely scarce within the expansion, and they showcase Legendary Pokémon such as Reshiram, Zekrom, and Victini, the mythical creature. What makes these cards distinctive is their full monochrome illustration. Although players can potentially draw Victini or Reshiram by opening White Flare packs, it’s worth noting that Victini and Zekrom might be found in Black Bolt booster packs as well.

In contrast to previous challenges, TCG Player asserts that obtaining Illustration Rare cards in Black Bolt and White Flare is significantly more frequent compared to any other expansion within the Scarlet and Violet series. As per Destined Rivals pull rates, fans approximately have a 1 in 12 chance of getting one of these cards when unsealing packs. However, in the case of Black Bolt and White Flare, the odds are notably improved to 1 in 6.
