As a long-time fan of both Pokémon and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games, I am beyond excited to share my thoughts on Ho-Oh’s move set reveal in Pokemon Unite! Having grown up with the iconic Legendary Pokémon from the Johto region, it brings me immense joy to see Ho-Oh finally joining the ranks of playable characters in this competitive and innovative MOBA title.

Ho-Oh, the Fire/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Unite, has been unveiled with its move set. This revealing update is part of the game’s third anniversary celebrations and goes live on July 19. In the context of Pokemon Unite, Ho-Oh brings potent fire abilities that inflict debuffs upon opposing Pokemon.

In simpler terms, “Pokemon Unite” developed collaboratively by TiMi Studio Group and The Pokemon Company is a competitive MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game accessible on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. Five-member teams battle it out to amass points, which are accrued by transferring energy into the opposing team’s goals. This energy can be obtained by subduing wild Pokemon or opponents in the game. Players gain experience points (XP) and unlock new skills, empowering their Pokemon, with frequent updates introducing new playable characters.

A new trailer for “Pokemon Unite” by The Pokemon Company unveiled Ho-Oh’s complete move set as a Legendary Pokemon from the Johto region. Ho-Oh is classified as a ranged defender with an easy learning curve, suitable for beginners in “Pokemon Unite.” Ho-Oh boasts a healing ability named Regenerator, which restores HP when not taking damage for a certain duration. Additionally, Ho-Oh’s Fly skill enables the Pokemon to glide over walls while accelerating movement and attacks, delivering three enhanced strikes, and inflicting damage on opposing Pokemon upon landing. The Fire Spin move surrounds Ho-Oh with a flaming whirlpool, damaging opponents and slowing them down, while bestowing a protective shield that deals extra damage within the vortex.

In Pokemon GO, Ho-Oh’s Incinerate skill inspires the Flamethrower ability of certain Pokemon. By unleashing this power against adversary Pokemon, users inflict flames that decrease the effectiveness of opponents’ attacks and special moves. Prolonged use of Ho-Oh’s Flamethrower results in a longer cooldown time. Moreover, affected Pokemon will experience reduced movement speed due to being burned. Additionally, these Pokemon leave behind a trail of scorching flames that damage and slow down other opposing Pokemon as they move.

Just like Fly allows Fly-type Pokemon to take flight, the Sky Attack skill lifts Ho-Oh up into the sky. Sky Attack leaves a burning path in its wake, inflicting harm on opponents while also slowing them down. Additionally, Ho-Oh boasts an impressive Unite Move called Rekindling Flame. This move revives fainting Pokemon by dispersing feathers and utilizing Aeos energy.

As Ho-Oh makes its appearance, the gameplay dynamics of Pokemon Unite are set to change significantly with the third anniversary update. Given that Pokemon Unite regularly introduces new events and updates monthly, there’s more exciting news for Pokemon enthusiasts in store – the addition of new Pokemon down the line.
