The game’s 8 Gyms appear to follow a series of established patterns, beginning with a Grass-type Gym leader – a tradition seen in previous games like Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet. Interestingly, Wind and Wave is rumored to only have the second Dark-type Gym in the entire series, following the introduction of Piers and the Spikemuth Gym in Sword and Shield.
The newest Pokemon Wind and Wave games introduce “Majin” battles, which are expected to be the core battle feature for this generation, similar to Terastallization in the previous generation or Dynamax before that. These battles seem to revolve around the weather in the area, meaning players will likely battle trainers or Pokemon that take advantage of the terrain. If Wind and Wave is Anything Like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, These Are Going to Be the Elite Four Types
Out of the 18 different Pokémon types, only 14 appear in the major battles that have been revealed so far. This means Electric, Water, Bug, and Dragon types are missing from the main battle lineup, possibly saved for the Elite Four challenges. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet aimed to feature a significant battle for each of the 18 types, ensuring players would encounter and need to prepare for opponents of every type during their adventure.
