Poppy Playtime Chapter 5: Emoji Keypad Code in Conditioning

While exploring Playtime Co. in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you’ll find several keypads, but the Emoji Keypad is unique. Located in the Conditioning area, this keypad has four buttons displaying different emotions: Happy, Sad, Disgust, and Fear. This guide will show you how to solve the Emoji Keypad puzzle and unlock the area behind it.

How to Get the Code for the Faces/Emoji Keypad in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5

Once you’ve escaped the Prototype by having Chum swallow you in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you’ll need to find three memories to unlock a door. The first memory is straightforward to find, but you’ll have to search through two separate areas to locate the remaining two memory chips.

Once you’ve placed all the memory chips into the readers by the large machine, go inside the machine and look at the memories they contain. After viewing the first two memories, a short cutscene will play when you start the third one.

In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you’ll see a scientist bring you into a lab, and you’ll suddenly forget the code for the Emoji keypad. The scientist will then receive the correct code over the radio, and it is as follows:

  • Happy (Yellow)
  • Happy (Yellow)
  • Disgust (Green)
  • Sad (Blue)
  • Fear (Purple)
  • Happy (Yellow)

The code to open the Emoji Keypad doesn’t change, meaning you can use the solution right away, even if you haven’t found the memory chips yet.

Once you’ve finished watching the memory, don’t leave. Go back to the Conditioning room and use the code to unlock the Emoji keypad.

What’s Inside the Locked Door with the Emoji Keypad in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5?

Right inside the Emoji keypad door, you’ll immediately see one of the earliest collectible VHS tapes.

There are only three of these in the game, so you can cross this one off your list. As you go deeper inside, look to your left – you’ll see the broken room you remember. In the corner, you can find a TV and a VHS player to watch the tape.

This room contains more than just a VHS tape. If you duck down and look through the first shutter on the left, you’ll see a damaged hand scanner on the wall to your right.

This is one of seven hidden hand scanners in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5. Finding them all unlocks a secret Easter egg near the game’s ending.
