Poppy Playtime’s Scariest Monsters Turn Minecraft into Survival Horror

I was so excited to wake up and find out a *Poppy Playtime* add-on just dropped for *Minecraft* today, October 14th! It’s amazing – they’ve added a bunch of the iconic monsters from *Poppy Playtime*, and it totally transforms *Minecraft* into a really creepy survival horror game. They even released some new character skins to go with it, which is a nice bonus!

Poppy Playtime has become a huge success story for indie horror games in the 2020s, selling millions of copies on Steam. So far, the game has four chapters, several spin-off games, and lots of merchandise. A live-action movie is also planned. The game’s creator, Mob Entertainment, has been collaborating with other brands on various projects.

Poppy Playtime Minecraft Add-On Shadow Dropped

Following their recent collaborations, the Missouri-based studio has partnered with Dutch developer Spark Universe to release a new add-on for *Minecraft* on October 14th. Called “Huggy and Friends,” this pack adds five monsters from the *Poppy Playtime* series – Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, CatNap, The Doctor, and Doey the Doughman – to the popular sandbox game. It’s available for purchase with 990 Minecoins, which costs about $5.99 – the same price as a pack of 960+60 Minecoins.

Minecraft’s Poppy Playtime Monsters Aren’t Just Skins

To celebrate the new add-on, Mob Entertainment released a fun trailer showing Minecraft players being pursued by scary toys from Poppy Playtime. These aren’t just cosmetic changes; the characters have been added as completely new creatures with their own behaviors and ways of interacting with players. Huggy Wuggy constantly chases you, Mommy Long Legs makes you play disturbing games, and CatNap appears in unsettling, dreamlike sequences. The Doctor watches your every move, and Doey the Doughman is unpredictable, switching between being helpful and hostile.

The new Huggy and Friends update transforms *Minecraft* into a truly scary survival horror game. Players who overcome the challenges will earn GrabPack hands, giving them special powers like jumping, swinging, setting things on fire, and delivering electric shocks. Along with the update, five cosmetic items inspired by *Poppy Playtime* characters are available: the GrabPack, Huggy Wuggy Head, Kissy Missy Head, DogDay Pajamas, and CatNap Pajamas.

The new add-on combines the creative freedom of *Minecraft* with the scary atmosphere of *Poppy Playtime*, according to Benjamin Grindrod, Head of Marketplace at Spark Universe. Players can buy Huggy and Friends through the *Minecraft* Marketplace, and it works with the Bedrock Edition on computers, game consoles, and phones.
