Popular Series Removed From Xbox Game Pass, Fans Are Not Happy

As a gaming enthusiast, one of the perks I absolutely love about my Xbox Game Pass is being able to dive into the latest sports games sans the hefty $70 price tag that comes with buying them on release day. It’s an economical and convenient way for me to stay current with sports games without putting a dent in my wallet.

Generally speaking, many sports games aren’t added to Game Pass until several months following their initial release, often after their specific seasons have concluded. This is true for the Madden series as well, but on the bright side, it helps pass the time during the off-season for football fans.

For several years now, there’s been an exception to the rule with MLB The Show being available on day one for Xbox Game Pass. Regrettably, it appears that this isn’t the case for MLB The Show 25 this year, as many gamers, including myself, are finding out.

Fans Reportedly Are Cancelling Game Pass Subscriptions Due To MLB The Show 25 Not Being Available

One fan explained why they had Ultimate: ‘It was mainly because I’m a big fan of MLB The Show.’ With Ultimate, I could enjoy my favorite sports game on my PC using cloud gaming, something I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise. This feature made the subscription worthwhile for me. However, since they took out The Show 24 and haven’t added 25 to Game Pass yet, I feel like my time subscribing might be drawing to a close.

A different supporter concurred, commenting, “Honestly, Game Pass no longer seems like a good value… It may be more sensible to opt for the Core subscription instead, especially when considering spending another $70 on the specific games you desire.

It’s worth noting that the information about MLB The Show 25 not being offered on Game Pass this year has been circulating for around two months now. However, in the past thirty days, there’s been a surge of questions on the Xbox Game Pass subreddit from users wondering if it is indeed available, given that MLB The Show 24 was removed from Game Pass last month.

This year, Sony, responsible for releasing MLB The Show 25, has confirmed that the game won’t be accessible through subscription services. Therefore, we might expect it to be released in 2026. However, by that time, everyone is likely to be eagerly anticipating MLB The Show 26 instead.
