Popular Xbox Game Pass Game is Jumping Ship to PS5 Very Soon

The popular indie ski racing game, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, which has been a hit on Xbox and PC, is coming to PlayStation 5 in December 2025. Players on PlayStation 5 will soon be able to experience the thrilling gameplay that has made this game so well-loved.

Megagon Industries launched Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders on Xbox Game Pass on January 21, 2025, and later made it available to all Game Pass subscribers that same year. Its earlier game, Lonely Mountains: Downhill, was also released directly onto the platform. Now, like many games recently, the series is expanding to PlayStation.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders Is Coming to PS5 on December 3

Okay, awesome news for all you PlayStation fans! I just saw that Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is officially coming to PS5 on December 3, 2025! If you’re anything like the players on Xbox and PC, you’re going to love this game. It blew up pretty quickly on those platforms – hit over 500,000 players in under a month, and now it’s over a million! The PS5 version is getting a ton of extra polish too, since it’s coming out later. Plus, get this – it’ll support cross-platform multiplayer with Xbox, so you can ride with up to seven of your friends, no matter what console they’re on!

Although Lonely Mountains: Downhill is included with PS Plus Extra, Snow Riders isn’t. Despite initially launching on Xbox Game Pass, this snowboarding sequel won’t be available on PlayStation’s similar service, meaning players will need to purchase it separately. The good news is it’s relatively affordable, priced at $24.99 – a welcome relief considering the increasing cost of games and consoles. The Highlands DLC, usually $7.99, will also be available on the PlayStation Store.

Recently, games that were once only available on Xbox have been released on PlayStation. This trend makes sense, especially considering that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a game available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, actually sold better on PlayStation 5 than on Xbox. While Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders isn’t owned by Microsoft, its arrival on PS5 is still great news for players.
