A retailer listing suggests that *Nioh 3* could be released on February 6, 2026. If this information is correct, an official announcement from Koei Tecmo about the release date is probably coming soon.
The third *Nioh* game was officially revealed during the June 2025 State of Play presentation. A short, early version of the game was unexpectedly released on the PlayStation Store immediately after the announcement, but it’s no longer available to download. Koei Tecmo, the game’s publisher, has stated that *Nioh 3* is planned for release in 2026, though a specific date hasn’t been confirmed.
Koei Tecmo Possibly Eyeing Early February Launch for Nioh 3
A potential release date for *Nioh 3* may have been revealed on Amazon Japan. A Twitter user, Renka_schedule, spotted listings for both the standard and Collector’s Editions of the game, indicating a release date of February 6, 2026. These listings were quickly removed – within a few hours of being discovered on September 24th – which suggests the date is legitimate.
Nioh 3 Release Date Announcement May Be Imminent
With recent information coming to light, an official release date for *Nioh 3* might be announced very soon. Sony has confirmed a new State of Play event for today, September 24th – their first major showcase since the one where *Nioh 3* was originally revealed in June. If the game is expected to launch within the next five months, we can likely expect pre-orders to begin shortly, as Koei Tecmo usually announces release dates at the same time pre-orders open.
I got to try the *Nioh 3* demo, and it really showed off what the game is all about! It’s great to see the character customization making a comeback from *Nioh 2*. But the coolest new thing is definitely the ‘Ninja’ combat style – it adds a whole new way to play alongside the classic Samurai style. Team Ninja has said they’re really focusing on exploration this time around, with much larger levels to explore. Don’t get too excited though, it’s not going to be a fully open-world game like their new release, *Rise of the Ronin*. It’s more about bigger, more detailed environments to get lost in.
The original *Nioh* games were highly praised for their challenging, *Soulslike combat, complex RPG systems, and rich world inspired by Japanese folklore. Team Ninja was also commended for creating a game that was both replayable and gradually increased in difficulty, allowing players to consistently improve. Some experienced players even consider the first time through *Nioh 2* as preparation for even harder challenges. Now, *Nioh 3* aims to build upon everything that made the first two games so successful, making it a must-watch title for fans of the *Soulslike genre.
